CORNWALL MAN FACES MULTIPLE CHARGES IN RELATION TO STABBING
Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 22, 2026, and charged with the following:
- Aggravated assault
- Two counts of assault causing bodily harm
- Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
- Two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
On Aug. 22, 2026, members of the Cornwall Police Service were dispatched to a disturbance complaint, and an investigation ensued.
It is alleged on this date, the man stabbed an individual known to him with an edged weapon. It is further alleged he threatened to kill and assaulted the individual, as well as another person, with the edged weapon, causing injuries.
The man was subsequently located by members of the CPS. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
INTIMIDATION JUSTICE SYSTEM PARTICIPANT
Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 20, 2026, and charged with intimidation – justice system participant. On Aug. 14, 2026, a member of the CPS was dispatched to the Cornwall Courthouse for a threats complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman intimidated a member of the justice system at the Cornwall Courthouse. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for her arrest. On Aug. 20, 2026, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
FAIL TO ATTEND
Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 20, 2026, and charged with fail to attend for fingerprints as per undertaking. It is alleged on June 19, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On Aug. 20, 2026, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Sept. 24, 2026.
FAIL TO ATTEND, SHOPLIFTING, MISCHIEF, DOMESTIC ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, DOMESTIC MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON – A 42-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 20, 2026, on the strength of several outstanding warrants.
It is alleged on Jan. 21, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of failure to attend court after having appeared.
It is alleged on March 17, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to comply with appearance notice – fingerprinting.
It is alleged on April 28, 2025, the man attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest on the charge of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.
It is alleged on June 3, 2025, the man was once again scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of failure to attend court after having appeared.
It is alleged on July 12, 2025, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest on the charge of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.
On April 13, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on March 21, 2026, the man assaulted his ex-girlfriend with a glass pipe. It is further alleged on April 13, 2026, he damaged the woman’s property. As a result of the investigation, a warrant was issued for his arrest on the charges of domestic assault with a weapon and mischief under $5,000.
On Aug. 4, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man assaulted his ex-girlfriend with a reciprocating saw and damaged the interior of the woman’s motor vehicle. As a result of the investigation, a warrant was issued for his arrest on the charges of domestic mischief and domestic assault with a weapon.
On Aug. 20, 2026, the man was located and taken into custody by a CPS detective. The warrants were executed and he was held for a bail hearing.
FAIL TO ATTEND
Cornwall, ON – A 47-year-old man from Ottawa was arrested on Aug. 20, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on May 19, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to comply with appearance notice – court. On Aug. 20, 2026, the man was located by a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) squad and turned over to the CPS. The warrant was executed and he was later released to appear in court on Aug. 28, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 20, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and fail to comply with release order. On Aug. 14, 2026, a member of the CPS was dispatched to a bail violation complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour as well as a release order with the relevant condition to remain in her residence or on her property at all times. It is further alleged she failed to remain on her property. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for the woman’s arrest. On Aug. 20, 2026, she was located by a CPS detective. The woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
IMPAIRED OPERATION, OVER 80
Cornwall, ON – A 65-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 20, 2026, and charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). On Aug. 20, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to a Pitt Street establishment in relation to a motor vehicle collision, and an investigation ensued. The man was located by police and the investigation revealed he was allegedly operating his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Sept. 10, 2026.
DOMESTIC UTTERING THREATS
Cornwall, ON – A 45-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 20, 2026, and charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm – domestic. On Aug. 20, members of the CPS were dispatched to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man threatened to physically harm his ex-spouse. He was subsequently located by police and taken into custody. The man was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Sept. 10, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 21, 2026, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with probation order and two counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on May 23, 2026, and Aug. 18, 2026, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged on these dates, he attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and exited the store on each occasion without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On Aug. 21, 2026, the man was located at the courthouse. He was charged accordingly and returned to cells to await a bail hearing.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 21, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on June 18, 2026, the woman attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest. On Aug. 21, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to a person welfare check, and an investigation ensued. The woman was subsequently located by police and taken into custody. She was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Sept. 24, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING, ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 22, 2026, and charged with the following:
- Fail to comply with probation order
- Theft under $5,000 – shoplifting
- Assault
It is alleged on Aug. 22, 2026, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged he attended a Brookdale Avenue business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. It is further alleged the man assaulted the Loss Prevention Officer at the business. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was later released to appear in court on Sept. 24, 2026.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 22, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on Aug. 22, 2026, the woman attended a Brookdale Avenue business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. She was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The woman was later released to appear in court on Sept. 29, 2026.
FAIL TO ATTEND
Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old woman from Akwesasne was arrested on Aug. 23, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on May 21, 2026, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of failure to attend court after having appeared. On Aug. 23, 2026, the woman was taken into custody by a Canada Border Services Agency officer and subsequently turned over to the CPS. The warrant was executed and she was later released to appear in court on Oct. 8, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 49-year-old man from Huntington, QC, was arrested on Aug. 23, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on Aug. 23, 2026, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not communicate in any way with a specific individual. It is further alleged the man was in contact with the individual he was prohibited from communicating with. He was taken into custody by a Canada Border Services Agency officer and subsequently turned over to the CPS. The man was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 68-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 23, 2026, and charged with the following:
- Fail to comply with probation order
- Two counts of fail to comply with release order
- Theft under $5,000 – shoplifting
It is alleged on Aug. 23, 2026, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, as well as a release order with the relevant conditions to not attend a specific business in the City of Cornwall and to not associate or communicate with a specific individual – a Loss Prevention Officer at the business. It is further alleged on this date, the man attended the Second Street East business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation. The man was taken into custody by the Loss Prevention Officer, the individual he was prohibited from associating with, and subsequently turned over to the CPS. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED
Cornwall, ON – A 41-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 23, 2026, and charged with operation while prohibited. On Aug. 23, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to the Port of Entry in relation to a police assistance call. It is alleged on this date, the man was operating a motor vehicle while prohibited. He was taken into custody by a Canada Border Services Agency officer and subsequently turned over to the CPS. He was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Oct. 8, 2026.
FAIL TO ATTEND, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM, POSSSESION OF FIREARM CONTRARY TO PROHIBITION ORDER, CARELESS USE OF FIREARM, CARRYING CONCEALED WEAPON, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE
Cornwall, ON – A 54-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 23, 2026, on the strength of several outstanding warrants.
It is alleged on May 21, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to comply with appearance notice – fingerprinting.
It is alleged on June 16, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to comply with appearance notice – court.
On June 22, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to an ambulance assist call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a prohibition order to not possess a firearm. It is also alleged he assaulted an individual known to him with a tool, causing injuries. It is further alleged the man was in possession of a gun, brandished the weapon and pointed it at the individual. As a result of the investigation, a warrant was issued for his arrest on the charges of:
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault causing bodily harm
- Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
- Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Firearm – use while committing offence
- Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
On Aug. 23, 2026, the man was located by a CPS officer, who was investigating an unrelated matter. He was taken into custody and the warrants were executed. The man was held for a bail hearing.

It is further alleged on this date, she attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for her arrest on the charges of fail to comply with probation order and theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. On Aug. 23, 2026, the woman was located by a CPS officer, who was investigating an unrelated matter. She was taken into custody and the warrant was executed. The woman was later released to appear in court on Sept. 24, 2026.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 22-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 23, 2026, and charged with two counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on July 15, 2026, and July 25, 2026, the woman attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and exited the store on each occasion without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest. On Aug. 23, 2026, the woman was located by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol in the City of Cornwall. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Sept. 24, 2026.

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 23, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on June 14, 2026, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On Aug. 23, 2026, the man was located by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Sept. 24, 2026.
