FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 5, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on June 16, 2026, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of failure to attend court after having appeared. On Aug. 5, 2026, the woman attended Cornwall Police Service headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed and she was released to appear in court on Sept. 10, 2026.

FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 54-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 5, 2026, on the strength of outstanding warrants.

It is alleged on May 20, 2026, the woman was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of fail to attend for fingerprints as per undertaking.

It is alleged on June 16, 2026, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of fail to attend for court as per undertaking.

On Aug. 5, 2026, the woman was located by a CPS officer, who was dealing with an unrelated matter. The warrants were executed and she was later released to appear in court on Sept. 8, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, CAUSING DISTURBANCE, OBSTRUCT PEACE OFFICER

Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 5, 2026, and charged with the following:

  • Fail to comply with sentence order
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Causing a disturbance
  • Obstruct peace officer

On Aug. 5, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to a disturbance at a park in the City of Cornwall, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the youth was bound by a sentence order with the relevant condition to not possess any weapons. It is also alleged he was in possession of an edged weapon and threatened an individual with it. The youth was located by police, and while being taken into custody, it is further alleged he caused a disturbance and resisted arrest. He was charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and released to appear in court at a later date.

Meanwhile, a 21-year-old man from Cornwall was also arrested and charged with the following:

  • Fail to comply with probation order
  • Fail to comply with undertaking
  • Obstruct peace officer

It is alleged on Aug. 5, 2026, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, as well as an undertaking with the relevant condition to not attend without adult supervision any public park or public swimming area where persons under the age of 16 years are present or can reasonably be expected to be present. It is further alleged that during the police investigation at the park, the man wilfully obstructed a CPS officer from engaging in the execution of his duty. The man was subsequently taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

CALLS FOR SERVICE: There were 63 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the last 24 hours (8 a.m. yesterday to 8 a.m. today).
