WARRANT, FRAUD, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Ryan Levac, 35, of Cornwall, was arrested on Aug. 7, 2024, on the strength of outstanding warrants and charged with four counts of fraud under $5,000 and four counts of theft under $5,000.

  • It is alleged on May 13, 2024, and May 16, 2024, the man fraudulently cashed four cheques. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
  • It is alleged on June 26, 2024, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
  • It is alleged on June 27, 2024, the man attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
  • It is also alleged on June 27, 2024, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
  • Finally, it is alleged on July 17, 2024, the man attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

On Aug. 7, 2024, the man attended police headquarters to address the matters. The warrants were executed and he was released to appear in court on Sept. 19, 2024.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Steven Helie, 48, of St. Andrews West, was arrested on Aug. 7, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on July 25, 2024, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Aug. 7, 2024, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed and he was held for a bail hearing.

CAUSING A DISTURBANCE, RESIST PEACE OFFICER, ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO RESIST ARREST

Cornwall, ON – Tanisha Cummings, 30, of Cornwall, was arrested on Aug. 7, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Causing a disturbance
  • Resist peace officer
  • Assault with intent to resist arrest

On Aug. 7, 2024, police responded to an unwanted person complaint and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman caused a disturbance. She was located and while being taken into custody, the woman allegedly resisted arrest and kicked a police officer. She was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Sept. 19, 2024.

WARRANT, FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – Tyler McMillan, 30, of Cornwall, was arrested on Aug. 8, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with two counts of fail to comply with probation order. It is alleged between July 18, 2023, and July 7, 2024, the man was bound by two probation orders with the relevant condition to attend and actively participate in all assessment, counselling or rehabilitative programs as directed by the Probation Officer. He failed to do so and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On Aug. 8, 2024, the man was located by police on general patrol. The warrant was executed and he was released to appear in court on Oct. 17, 2024.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Johnny Square, 30, of Hogansburg, NY, was arrested on Aug. 8, 2024, and charged with impaired operation and over 80. On Aug. 8, 2024, while on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Ninth Street East and Pitt Street and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man was allegedly operating his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Sept. 5, 2024.
