FRAUD OVER $5,000
Cornwall, ON – Nadereh Tehrani-Pour, 48, of Cornwall, was arrested on Dec. 9, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with fraud over $5,000. It is alleged from May 14, 2024, to June 5, 2024, the woman activated gift cards without paying for them. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On Dec. 9, 2024, the woman attended Cornwall Police Service headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed, she was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Jan. 14, 2025.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – Jacques Gravel, 60, of Ottawa, was arrested on Dec. 9, 2024, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on Dec. 9, 2024, the man attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was released to appear in court on Jan. 14, 2025.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Sarahrose Osbak, 42, of Cornwall, was arrested on Dec. 9, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Nov. 14, 2024, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On Dec. 9, 2024, police responded to a disturb the peace call and an investigation ensued. The woman was located and the warrant was executed. She was held for a bail hearing.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Dec. 9, 2024, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with undertaking. It is alleged on Nov. 28, 2024, and Dec. 6, 2024, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not communicate with his ex-girlfriend. It is alleged on these dates, the man sent text messages to his ex-girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Dec. 9, 2024, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Dec. 31, 2024. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim in the matter.
