FAIL TO COMPLY, ROBBERY WITH VIOLENCE

Cornwall, ON – Elizabeth Allikas, 27, of Ingleside, was arrested on Dec. 9, 2024, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and robbery with violence. It is alleged on Dec. 9, 2024, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, the woman attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Furthermore, it is alleged, she assaulted the Loss Prevention Officer at the business. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. She was held for a bail hearing.

BREAK AND ENTER, BREAK OUT OF DWELLING HOUSE

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Dec. 10, 2024, and charged with break and enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence and break out of dwelling house after entering with intent to commit. It is alleged on Dec. 2, 2024, the man broke into his ex-girlfriend’s residence and subsequently broke back out of the home. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Dec. 10, 2024, the man was located by police. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Dec. 31, 2024.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on Dec. 10, 2024, and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged on Dec. 10, 2024, the woman assaulted her spouse. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released to protect the identity of the victim in the matter.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Eli Johnston, 28, of Alexandria, was arrested on Dec. 10, 2024, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on Dec. 10, 2024, the man attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was released to appear in court on Jan. 14, 2025.

WARRANT, FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING, ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Brandon Lessard, 31, of Cornwall, was arrested on Dec. 10, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with the following:

  • Six counts of fail to comply with probation order
  • Theft under $5,000 – shoplifting
  • Assault

It is alleged on Sept. 12, 2024, the man was bound by two separate probation orders, each with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for the man’s arrest.

On Dec. 10, 2024, members of the CPS responded to a disturb the peace call at a Ninth Street East business and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend the Ninth Street East business. It is also alleged, he was bound by two other probation orders, each with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Furthermore, it is alleged on this date, the man attended the business he was prohibited from visiting and assaulted a Loss Prevention Officer.

The man was located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was released to appear in court on Jan. 14, 2025.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Elizabeth Bender-Young, 27, of Alexandria, was arrested on Dec. 10, 2024, and charged with assault. On Dec. 10, 2024, police responded to a disturb the peace call at a Ninth Street East business and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman punched a Loss Prevention Officer. She was located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The woman was released to appear in court on Jan. 14, 2025.

There were 55 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the last 24 hours (8 a.m. yesterday to 8 a.m. today). CPS reserves the right to not post all calls for service in order to protect the identity of the victims.
