DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 70-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Dec. 13, and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged on Dec. 13, 2024, the man punched his spouse in the face. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Jan. 9, 2025. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – John Lebrun, 51, of Cornwall, was arrested on Dec. 13, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Dec. 10, 2024, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Dec. 13, 2024, the man attended the Cornwall Police Service to address a separate matter. The warrant was executed and he was released to appear in court on Jan. 28, 2025.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Miklos Agh, 77, of Cornwall, was arrested on Dec. 13, 2024, and charged with operation while impaired and over 80. On Dec. 13, 2024, police responded to an impaired driver complaint in the area of Ninth Street East and an investigation ensued. The man was located by police and the investigation revealed he was operating his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Jan. 9, 2025.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Tanyia Moquin, 38, of Cornwall, was arrested on Dec. 14, 2024, and charged with assault. On Dec. 14, 2024, police responded to an unwanted person complaint at a Montreal Road establishment and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the woman assaulted another female. She was located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The woman was held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – Clarissa Square, 31, of Cornwall, was arrested on Dec. 14, 2024, and charged with fail to comply with appearance notice. It is alleged on Nov. 13, 2024, the woman was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprints and failed to do so. On Dec. 14, 2024, the woman was located by police. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Jan. 14, 2025.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Nash Oakes, 27, of Cornwall, was arrested on Dec. 15, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Dec. 3, 2024, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Dec. 15, 2024, the man was taken into custody by members of the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service and subsequently turned over to the CPS. The warrant was executed and the man was held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on Dec. 15, 2024, and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged on Dec. 15, 2024, the woman punched her husband in the head. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. She was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The woman was held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released to protect the identity of the victim in the matter.

BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE, THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, FAIL TO COMPLY, THEFT UNDER $5,000

Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old Finch man was arrested on Dec. 15, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Two counts of breach of recognizance
  • Theft of a motor vehicle
  • Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Fail to comply with release order
  • Theft under $5,000

It is alleged on Oct. 19, 2024, the youth was bound by a recognizance with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, he stole a motor vehicle in the area of Rosemount Avenue. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

Furthermore, it is alleged on Nov. 14, 2024, the youth was bound by a recognizance with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, the youth was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not operate or have care or control of a motor vehicle unless accompanied by the registered owner of the vehicle. It is alleged on this date, the youth stole several boat motor tanks and was also allegedly in possession of a stolen motor vehicle. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

On Dec. 15, 2024, the man was taken into custody by a member of the OPP and subsequently turned over to the CPS. He was charged as a youth since both offences were allegedly committed prior to his 18th birthday. The man was held for a bail hearing and his name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act

There were 153 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the weekend (8 a.m. Friday to 8 a.m. today). CPS reserves the right to not post all calls for service in order to protect the identity of the victims.
