FAIL TO COMPLY, DISGUISE WITH INTENT, BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, ON – Ethan Hemelaar, 20, of Cornwall, was arrested on Dec. 19, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Three counts of fail to comply with probation order
  • Disguise with intent
  • Break and enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence

It is alleged on Dec. 15, 2024, the man was bound by three separate probation orders, each with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, the man covered his face and broke into an apartment building. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Dec. 19, 2024, the man was located by police. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT, ROBBERY WITH VIOLENCE

Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Dec. 19, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with robbery with violence. It is alleged on June 21, 2024, the man broke into his girlfriend’s residence, robbed her and assaulted the woman. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for the man’s arrest. On Dec. 19, 2024, the man was located by a member of the Cornwall Police Service who was conducting traffic enforcement. The warrant was executed, the man was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Jan. 23, 2025. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Ryan Whitford, 30, of Cornwall, was arrested on Dec. 19, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Dec. 17, 2024, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Dec. 19, 2024, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed and he was released to appear in court on Jan. 23, 2025.

There were 57 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the last 24 hours (8 a.m. yesterday to 8 a.m. today). CPS reserves the right to not post all calls for service in order to protect the identity of the victims.
