Media Release - Dec. 24, 2024

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old youth was arrested on Dec. 23, 2024, and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged on Dec. 22, 2024, the youth assaulted another person known to her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Dec. 23, 2024, the youth attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court at a later date. Her name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

UTTERING THREATS

Cornwall, ON – Kyle Saucier, 34, of Cornwall, was arrested on Dec. 23, 2024, and charged with one count of uttering threats. It is alleged on Dec. 21, 2024, the man threatened to cause death to another individual known to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Dec. 23, 2024, the man was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on Jan. 28, 2025.

MISCHIEF UNDER $5,000

Cornwall, ON – Kaitlen Shallow-Duperron, 28, of Cornwall, was arrested on Dec. 23, 2024, and charged with mischief under $5,000. On Dec. 23, 2024, police were contacted in regards to an unwanted person. Upon police arrival, the woman damaged property attached to the residence and was subsequently taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on Feb. 11, 2025.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old man of Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 23, 2024, and charged with three counts of assault and one count of forcible confinement. It is alleged on three separate occasions between Sept. 07, 2017 to May 11, 2020, the man assaulted his ex-spouse. It is also alleged on or about Aug. 01, 2024, the man forcibly confined her in his vehicle. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result of the investigation, on Dec. 23, 2024, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on Jan. 28, 2025. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

WARRANTS

Cornwall, ON – Robert Cameron, 56, of Cornwall, was arrested on Dec. 23, 2024 on the strength of four outstanding warrants. It is alleged on Sept. 26, 2024, the man caused damage in excess of $5,000 to a municipally-owned apartment complex. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for his arrest. Furthermore, it is also alleged on this date, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. It is also alleged on Oct. 01, 2024, the man threatened to cause harm to a nurse at the Cornwall Community Hospital. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for his arrest. It is also alleged on Oct. 08, 2024, the man returned to the same municipally owned apartment complex and caused damage to the property. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued, leading to a warrant being issued for his arrest. Furthermore, the man was scheduled to attend court on Dec. 02, 2024, and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Dec. 23, 2024, the man was the subject of an unrelated call for service and the warrants were executed. He was held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 43-year-old woman of Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 24, 2024, and charged with assault. It is alleged on Dec. 24, 2024, police were contacted in regards to a domestic dispute in progress. Police attended and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed that on this date, the woman assaulted her boyfriend. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

There were 61 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the last 24 hours (8 a.m. yesterday to 8 a.m. today). CPS reserves the right to not post all calls for service in order to protect the identity of the victims.
