FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – Shonna Godfrey, 27, of Cornwall, was arrested on Jan. 31, 2025, and charged with the following:
- Two counts of fail comply with probation order
- Theft under $5,000 – shoplifting
- Dangerous operation
- Flight from peace officer
- Operation while prohibited
It is alleged on Jan. 19, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, the woman attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
It is also alleged on Jan. 31, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. On this date, the woman was allegedly observed by a member of the Cornwall Police Service to be driving a motor vehicle in the area of Second Street East. A brief pursuit ensued and it is alleged the woman fled police while driving the motor vehicle in a dangerous manner. It is also alleged the woman was operating the motor vehicle while prohibited.
The vehicle was subsequently located, after the woman allegedly crashed into a snowbank. A foot pursuit ensued and the woman was apprehended. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
FAIL TO COMPLY, BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE, SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – Megan Julien, 27, of Cornwall, was arrested on Jan. 31, 2025, and charged with the following:
- Two counts of fail to comply with probation order
- Breach of recognizance
- Theft under $5,000 – shoplifting
It is alleged on Jan. 28, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Ninth Street West business. It is also alleged on this date, the woman was bound by a recognizance with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Furthermore, it is alleged on this date, the woman attended the Ninth Street West business she was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
On Jan. 31, 2025, the woman was located by a CPS officer and after a brief foot pursuit, she was taken into custody. The woman was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
IMPAIRED, OVER 80
Cornwall, ON – Damien Cameron, 22, of Cornwall, was arrested on Feb. 1, 2025, and charged with impaired operation and over 80. On Feb. 1, 2025, a member of the CPS conducted a traffic stop in the area of Thirteenth Street West and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man was allegedly operating his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Feb. 25, 2025.
CAUSING DISTURBANCE, RESIST PEACE OFFICER, ASSAULT PEACE OFFICER
Cornwall, ON – Curtis Martin, 37, of Cornwall, was arrested on Feb. 1, 2025, and charged with the following:
- Causing a disturbance
- Resist a peace officer
- Assault a peace officer
On Feb. 1, 2025, police responded to a disturbance complaint and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man caused a disturbance and when apprehended by police, he resisted arrest. Furthermore, it is alleged, he kicked a police officer. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
ASSAULT PEACE OFFICER
Cornwall, ON – Chantal Leger, 46, of Cornwall, was arrested on Feb. 1, 2025, and charged with assault a peace officer. It is alleged on Dec. 17, 2024, the woman assaulted a peace officer. On Feb. 1, 2025, the woman was located by CPS officers who were dealing with a separate matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 6, 2025.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old Petawawa, ON, man was arrested on Feb. 1, 2025, and charged with fail to comply with undertaking. It is alleged on Feb. 1, 2025, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not enter areas his spouse is known to live, work or frequent. It is alleged on this date, the man attended a public facility, where his spouse was also present. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 4, 2025. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim in the matter.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – Adam Jodoin, 41, of Cornwall, was arrested on Feb. 2, 2025, and charged with four counts of fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on Jan. 13, 2025, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to reside with his surety at a specific address, to notify the CPS of any change of address and to remain in his residence at all times with specific exceptions. On Jan. 13, 2025, while police were dealing with a separate matter, an investigation revealed the man was no longer residing with his surety at the specific address and furthermore, he failed to notify police. On Feb. 2, 2025, it is alleged the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to remain in his residence at all times. On this date, he was located by a CPS officer, who was dealing with a separate matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
WARRANTS
Cornwall, ON – Dustin George, 35, of Akwesasne, was arrested on Feb. 2, 2025, on the strength of outstanding warrants and charged with the following:
- Four counts of administer noxious thing
- Four counts of assault with a weapon
- Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
- Assault
- Robbery with weapon
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Mischief – obstructs, interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property
- Three counts of fail to comply with probation order
- Fail to comply with release order
- Possession of a Schedule I substance – cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid
It is alleged on Oct. 10, 2025, the man attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. He was detained by the Loss Prevention Officer (LPO) at the business. It is also alleged on this date, the man removed bear spray from his bag and administered the noxious thing into the LPO’s face. Furthermore, it is alleged, the man administered the bear spray toward several other staff members while exiting the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for the man’s arrest.
Furthermore, it is alleged from Oct. 18, 2024, to Jan. 29, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to report in person to a probation officer. He failed to do so and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Finally, it is alleged on Feb. 2, 2025, the man was bound by two separate probation orders with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to remain on his property at all times. On Feb. 2, 2025, the man was located by a CPS officer who was in general patrol in the City of Cornwall. After a brief foot pursuit, the man was apprehended by police. Further investigation revealed he was in possession of cocaine and fentanyl.
The warrants were executed, he was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
UTTERING THREATS, SEXUAL ASSAULT, VOYEURISM, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT
Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on Feb. 2, 2025, and charged with the following:
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
- Sexual assault
- Voyeurism
- Criminal harassment – repeatedly follow, repeatedly communicate with, watch and beset, threatening conduct
It is alleged on Oct. 3, 2024, the youth threatened to spray his girlfriend with bear mace. It is also alleged in late 2024, the youth sexually assaulted his girlfriend and videotaped her during sexual contact. Finally, it is alleged from Jan. 18, 2025, to Jan. 31, 2025, the youth repeatedly communicated with his ex-girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Feb. 2, 2025, the youth attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
FAIL TO COMPLY, POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE
Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Feb. 2, 2025, and charged with four counts of fail to comply with probation order and one count of possession of a Schedule I substance – cocaine. It is alleged on Feb. 2, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, to not contact or communicate with his mother and to not be within 100 metres of any place his mother lives, works or frequents. It is also alleged on this date, the man was bound by a separate probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Finally, it is alleged on this date, the man attended his mother’s residence and communicated with her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located and taken into custody. Further investigation revealed he was also allegedly in possession of cocaine. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 11, 2025. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim in the matter.
