FAIL TO COMPLY, UNAUTHORIZED POSSESSION OF WEAPON, CARRYING CONCEALED WEAPON, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Feb. 4, 2025, and charged with the following:

  • Four counts of fail to comply with release order
  • Unauthorized possession of weapon
  • Carrying concealed weapon
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

It is alleged on Feb. 4, 2025, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to remain in his residence at all times, to not contact or communicate in any way with his ex-girlfriend, to not be within 150 metres of any place his ex-girlfriend is known to live, work or frequent and to not possess any weapons. On Feb. 4, 2025, police responded to a disturbance complaint and an investigation ensued. The man was located and the investigation revealed he failed to remain in his residence and was in the presence of his ex-girlfriend. The investigation also revealed the man was in possession of brass knuckles. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. The man’s name was not released to protect the identity of the victim in the matter.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on Feb. 4, 2025, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on Feb. 4, 2025, the woman was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to reside with a surety at a specific address and to remain on her property at all times. On this date, police responded to a disturbance complaint and an investigation ensued. The woman was located and the investigation revealed she had breached the conditions of her release order. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the individual in the previous report.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Jarret Jodoin, 26, of Cornwall, was arrested on Feb. 4, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Jan. 9, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Feb. 4, 2025, the man was located by a Cornwall Police Service officer who was dealing with a separate matter. The warrant was executed and he was released to appear in court on March 20, 2025.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – Tawnya Brunette, 37, of Cornwall, was arrested on Feb. 4, 2025, and charged with three counts of fail to comply with probation order. It is alleged from Dec. 9, 2024, to Jan. 28, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to report in person to a probation officer, to notify the court of any change of name, address or employment and to notify the probation officer of any change of name, address or employment. She failed to do so and an investigation ensued. On Feb. 4, 2025, the woman was located by members of the CPS. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 20, 2025.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Brady Thompson, 29, of Cornwall, was arrested on Feb. 4, 2025, and charged with impaired operation and over 80. On Feb. 4, 2025, member of the CPS responded to a suspicious vehicle and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man was allegedly operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The man was later released to appear in court on Feb. 25, 2025.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Darin Oakes, 59, of Ogdensburg, NY, was arrested on Feb. 4, 2025, and charged with impaired operation and over 80. On Feb. 4, 2025, the man attended the Port of Entry and was allegedly operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody by Canada Border Services Agency officers and police were contacted. The man was subsequently turned over to the CPS and an investigation ensued. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 6, 2025.

There were 122 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the last 48 hours (8 a.m. Monday to 8 a.m. today). The CPS reserves the right to not post all calls for service in order to protect the identity of the victims.
