WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Jorden Morin, 35, of Cornwall, was arrested on Jan. 10, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged the man was bound by two separate probation orders with the relevant conditions to report in person to a probation officer and to notify the court or probation officer of any changes of name or address. It is also alleged between Dec. 7, 2017 and Jan. 18, 2018, the man failed to comply with these conditions. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Jan. 10, 2024, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed and he was released to appear in court on Feb. 22, 2024.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Tyler Gray, 36, of Akwesasne, was arrested on Jan. 10, 2024, and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged on Oct. 21, 2023, the man attended a Second Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Jan. 10, 2024, the man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was released to appear in court on Feb. 22, 2024.

FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Tina Benedict, 59, of Akwesasne, was arrested on Jan. 10, 2024, and charged with two counts fail to comply with probation order and theft under $5,000. It is alleged on Jan. 10, 2024, the woman was bound by two separate probation orders with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, she attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. She was released to appear in court on Feb. 13, 2024.

Later in the evening, it is alleged the woman was once again charged with fail to comply with probation order and theft under $5,000. It is alleged she attended another Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. She was released to once again appear in court on Feb. 13, 2024.

FAIL TO COMPLY, ASSAULT A PEACE OFFICER WITH A WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – Michel Piette, 51, of Cornwall, was arrested on Jan. 10, 2024, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and assault a peace officer with a weapon. It is alleged on Jan. 6, 2024, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, the man attempted to assault an office using an object. On Jan. 10, 2024, the man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was released to appear in court on Feb. 13, 2024.  

FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Roxanne Cook, 36, of Cornwall, was arrested on Jan. 10, 2024, and charged with three counts fail to comply with probation order and theft under $5,000. It is alleged on Dec. 30, 2024, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, she was bound by a second probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Ninth Street East business. Furthermore, it is alleged on Dec. 30, 2024, the woman attended the business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Jan. 10, 2024, the woman was located while police were dealing with a separate matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Feb. 13, 2024.

FAIL TO COMPLY, POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY

Cornwall, ON – Louis Jacques, 34, of no fixed address, was arrested on Jan. 11, 2024, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and possession property obtained by crime over $5,000. On Jan. 11, 2024, police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Brookdale Avenue and Ninth Street and an investigation ensued, revealing the vehicle was reported stolen. It is also alleged the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY, OBSTRUCT PEACE OFFICER

Cornwall, ON – Maxime Belanger, 32, of no fixed address, was arrested on Jan. 11, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Fail to comply with probation order
  • Four counts fail to comply with release order
  • Obstruct peace officer

On Jan. 11, 2024, police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Brookdale Avenue and Ninth Street and an investigation ensued. It is alleged the man provided police with a false name. It is also alleged the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to reside at a specific address and to reside at a specific address 24 hours a day. Furthermore, it is alleged he was bound by a second release order with the relevant condition to reside 24 hours a day at a specific residence and to not consume or have possession of alcohol or other intoxicating substances. He failed to do so. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
