SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – Ryan Meek, 40, of Cornwall, was arrested on Jan. 14, 2025, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on Jan. 14, 2025, the man attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was released to appear in court on Feb. 20, 2025.
FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – Roxanne Cook, 37, of Cornwall, was arrested on Jan. 14, 2025, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with probation order and one count of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on Jan. 14, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific business on Ninth Street East. It is also alleged on Jan. 14, 2025, the woman attended the Ninth Street East business she was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. She was located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The woman was released to appear in court on Feb. 20, 2025.
UTTERING THREATS
Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 14, 2025, and charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. It is alleged on Oct. 30, 2024, the individual threatened to kill his neighbour. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Jan. 14, 2025, the individual attended Cornwall Police Service headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. Since the alleged offence occurred before the individual turned 18, his name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

There were 50 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the last 24 hours (8 a.m. yesterday to 8 a.m. today). The CPS reserves the right to not post all calls for service in order to protect the identity of the victims.
