FAIL TO ATTEND
Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 26, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Dec. 4, 2025, the youth was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of fail to attend court after having appeared. On Jan. 26, 2026, the youth contacted the Cornwall Police Service to address the matter. The warrant was executed, and she was released to appear in court at a later date.
SHOPLIFTING, FAIL TO ATTEND, FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old woman from Akwesasne was arrested on Jan. 26, 2026, on the strength of outstanding warrants and additionally charged with five counts of fail to comply with release order.
It is alleged on Aug. 17, 2025, the woman attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. As a result, a warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.
It is further alleged on Jan. 20, 2026, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of fail to attend court while on release order.
Finally, it is alleged on Jan. 26, 2026, the woman was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to reside at a specific address in Akwesasne with her surety, to remain on residence at all times, to stay out of the City of Cornwall, to not contact or communicate with a specific individual and to not be within 50 metres of the individual or anywhere he is known to be. On Jan. 26, 2026, members of the CPS were conducting a walkthrough of a building at the request of the property owner due to ongoing issues with trespassing. The woman, along with the individual she was prohibited from contacting, were subsequently located by police. The warrants were executed, she was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
THEFT
Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 26, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged on Jan. 26, 2026, the man stole food from a Ninth Street East establishment. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was subsequently located by CPS officers. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on March 3, 2026.
