FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 29, 2026, and charged with four counts of fail to comply with probation order and two counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.
It is alleged on Nov. 9, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Second Street East business. It is also alleged on this date, the man attended the Second Street East business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items.
It is further alleged on Nov. 18, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Ninth Street West business. It is also alleged on this date, the man attended the Ninth Street West business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items.
The Cornwall Police Service was contacted and an investigation ensued, led by a Community Safety Officer. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for the man’s arrest.
On Jan. 29, 2026, he attended police headquarters to address the matter. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 12, 2026.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT, UTTERING THREATS
Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 29, 2026, and charged with two counts of domestic assault and one count of uttering threats to damage property. On Jan. 20, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to a police information complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged between Jan. 1, 2025, and June 30, 2025, the man assaulted his spouse on multiple occasions. It is also alleged he threatened to burn down her residence. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for the man’s arrest. On Jan. 29, 2026, he was located by a CPS officer. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Feb. 24, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 29, 2026, and charged with three counts of fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on Jan. 28, 2026, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to reside with a surety at a specific address in the City of Cornwall, to notify the officer in charge of any change of address and to remain in his residence at all times except when in the presence of his surety. It is further alleged the man breached the conditions of his release order and as a result, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. On Jan. 29, 2026, the man was located by a CPS officer. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
