DOMESTIC MICHIEF UNDER $5,000

Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Jan. 30, 2024, and charged with domestic mischief under $5,000. It is alleged on Jan. 30, 2024, the man damaged property in his girlfriend’s residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Feb. 20, 2024. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED

Cornwall, ON – Aronhientha Benedict-Oakes, 27, of Akwesasne, was arrested on Jan. 30, 2024, and charged with two counts of operation while prohibited. On Jan. 30, 2024, the man was held in custody at the Canada Border Services Agency, before being turned over to the CPS. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 7, 2024.

FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – Louis Delorme, 43, of Cornwall, was arrested on Jan. 30, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Fail to comply with release order
  • Fail to comply with probation order
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Assault with a weapon

It is alleged on Jan. 30, 2024, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to remain in his residence with specific exceptions. It is also alleged on this date, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Furthermore, it is alleged on Jan. 30, 2024, the man attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the item. It is also alleged the man assaulted the Loss Prevention Officer with a sharp-edged weapon. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was held for a bail hearing.
