DOMESTIC MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old man of Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 27, 2024, and charged with mischief under $5,000. It is alleged on Dec. 27, 2024, the man damaged an appliance in his girlfriend’s residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on Jan. 7, 2025.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Kenneth Gass, 55, of Cornwall, was arrested on Dec. 27, 2024, and charged with two counts of theft under $5,000 and two counts of failing to comply with probation. It is alleged that on two different dates; Dec. 18 and 24, 2024, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and behaviour. On both dates, the man attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise, and left without attempting to pay for it. Police were contacted on both occasions and investigations ensued. On Dec. 27, 2024, police located the man during an unrelated call for service. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on Feb. 6, 2025.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON - Two youths, a 13 and 16-year-old, were arrested on Dec. 27, 2024, and with failing to comply with an undertaking. It is alleged on Dec. 27, 2024, both youths were bound by an undertaking to not communicate with one and other, and the 16-year-old had an additional condition to notify police of any change of address. It is also alleged that on this date, the youths were together at a residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed that the 16-year-old youth did not notify police of an address change. The 13-year-old was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. The 16-year-old was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. Their names were not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Jamie Malyon, 42, of Cornwall, was arrested on Dec. 28, 2024, and charged with impaired operation and over 80. It is alleged on Dec. 15, 2024, police responded to a call for service in the area of Marguerite D’Youville Street in regards to a vehicle that had struck a residence. Police attended and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. On Dec. 28, 2024, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on Jan. 14, 2025.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 47-year-old man of Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 28, 2024, and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged on Dec. 28, 2024, the man pushed his girlfriend’s daughter. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on Jan. 28, 2025. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Amanda Campeau, 32, of Cornwall, was arrested on Dec. 29, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Dec. 03, 2024, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On Dec. 29, 2024, the woman was located and the warrant was executed. She was held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – Emerisse Edgley, 41, of Cornwall, was arrested on Dec. 29, 2024, and charged with failing to comply with an undertaking. It is alleged on Dec. 13, 2024, the woman was stopped and investigated for traffic offenses. The investigation revealed that on this date, the woman was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to notify CPS of any change of address, and she failed to do so. On Dec. 29, 2024, police stopped a vehicle and the woman attempted to flee on foot. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.  

DOMESTIC ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old woman, a 55 year-old man, and a 55-year old woman, all of Cornwall, were arrested on Dec. 29, 2024 and charged individually with one count of assault with a weapon. On this date, it is alleged police were contacted in response to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival at the residence, an investigation commenced and revealed on this date, the woman assaulted her stepfather by throwing a pastry at him, resulting in him throwing it back at her. An altercation ensued resulting in another member of the household (the woman’s mother and man’s wife) striking the man with a pan. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. All parties were taken into custody, charged accordingly, and were released as follows;

·       The 18-year-old man was released to appear in court on Jan. 21, 2025

·       The 55-year-old man was released to appear in court on Jan. 21, 2025

·       The 55-year-old man was released to appear in court on Jan. 23, 2025     

Their names were not released to protect the identities of the victims in this matter.

DOMESTIC FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old woman of Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 30, 2024, and charged with three counts of failing to comply with a release order. It is alleged on Dec. 25, 2024, the woman was bound by a release order to not communicate with or attend the residence of her ex-boyfriend. It is alleged on this date the woman attended his residence and communicated with him. It is also alleged on Dec. 26, 2024, the woman was bound by a release order to not communicate with her ex-boyfriend and on this date, sent him an email. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Dec. 30, 2024, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – John O’Quinn, 34, of Cornwall, was arrested on Dec. 30, 2024, and charged with assault. Is alleged on Oct. 9, 2024, the man assaulted another individual known to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Dec. 30, 2024, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on Feb. 6, 2024.

FAIL TO ATTEND FOR PRINTS

Cornwall, ON – Celine Cormier, 53, of Cornwall, was arrested on Dec. 30, 2024, and charged with failing to attend for prints. It is alleged on Dec. 27, 2024, the woman was scheduled to attend CPS headquarters to be fingerprinted. She failed to do so. On Dec. 30, 2024, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on Feb. 6, 2025.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Serenity Seguin-Jacco, 18, of Akwesasne, was arrested on Dec. 30, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Nov. 18, 2024, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On Dec. 30, 2024, the woman attended the Port of Entry and was taken into custody by Border Service’s Officers. Police were contacted and the warrant was executed. She was released to appear in court on Feb. 6, 2024.

SHOPLIFTING, FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – Craig Hopkins, 47, of Cornwall, was arrested on Dec. 31, 2024, and charged with theft under $5,000 and two counts of failing to comply with probation. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by two probation orders with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. On this date, it is also alleged he attended a Ninth Street business, selected merchandise, and left the store without paying. Police were contacted and located the man. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on Feb. 11, 2025.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Patrick Carriere, 31, of Cornwall, was arrested on Dec. 31, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Jan. 18, 2024, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not communicate with a specific individual, and on this date, was in the presence of that person. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Dec. 31, 2024, a detective from the Criminal Investigation Division located the man and the warrant was executed. He was released to appear in court on Feb. 6, 2024.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 52-year-old man of Akwesasne was arrested on Dec. 31, 2024, and charged with two counts of failing to comply with probation. It is alleged on Dec. 31, 2024, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace an be of good behaviour, and to not be within a specific distance of a certain individual. On this date, it is alleged that a member of CPS spotted the man entering the residence and within the prohibited distance of the individual listed in his probation order. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as the probation order stems from a matter of domestic violence and may identify the victim.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Randy Lague, 31, of Cornwall, was arrested on Jan. 1, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Nov. 01, 2024, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Jan. 1, 2024, the man was located during an unrelated call for service and the warrant was executed. He was held for a bail hearing.

TRESPASS AT NIGHT

Cornwall, ON – James Jackson, 25, of Cornwall, was arrested on Jan. 01, 2025, and charged with one count of trespassing at night. In the early hours of Jan. 1, 2025, police responded to a report of a suspicious person who had entered a structure on a property. Police attended and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man was unlawfully in the structure. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on Feb. 6, 2025.

FAILING TO COMPLY WITH PROBATION

Cornwall, ON – A 43-year-old man of Akwesasne was arrested on Jan. 1, 2025, and charged with 5 counts of failing to comply with probation. It is alleged on Nov. 20, 2024, the man was bound by two probation orders. The first order had the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, and to not communicate with a specific individual. The second had the same conditions and to not be within a specific distance of the same individual. On this date, it is alleged the man was in the presence of the individual he was prohibited from being near and communicating with. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Jan. 1, 2025, the man was located and taken into custody by members of the Akwesasne Mohawk Police and turned over to members of CPS. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

THEFT OF PARCEL

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old was arrested on Jan. 1, 2024, and charged with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged on Dec. 13, 2024, the youth attended a property and removed a parcel from the doorstep that did not belong to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Jan. 1, 2025, the youth was located, taken into custody, and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

UTTERING THREATS

Cornwall, ON – Steven Doychak, 52, of Cornwall, was arrested on Jan. 1, 2025, and charged with one count of uttering threats. It is alleged on Nov. 18, 2024, the man threatened to harm another individual known to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Jan 1, 2025, the man was located during an unrelated call for service. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on Feb. 6, 2025.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Keith Seyeau, 49, of Cornwall, was arrested on Jan. 1, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Dec. 12, 2024, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Jan. 1, 2025, the man was located and the warrant was executed. He was released to appear in court on Feb. 11, 2025.

THREATS, FAILING TO COMPLY WITH PROBATION

Cornwall, ON – A 43-year-old man from Akwesasne was arrested on Jan. 2, 2025, and charged with two counts of failing to comply with probation and uttering threats. It is alleged that on Jan. 2, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not indirectly contact and individual. On this date, it is alleged that the man called the individual’s phone he was prohibited form contacting and threatened to cause harm to the individual who answered. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man was already in custody. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Kim Legault, 40, of Cornwall, was arrested on Jan. 2, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Jan. 30, 2024, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On Jan. 2, 2025, the woman was located during an unrelated call for service. The warrant was executed and she was released to appear in court on Jan. 20, 2025.

CALLS FOR SERVICE

There were 418 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the holidays (8 a.m. Dec. 27, 2024 to 8 a.m. Jan. 3, 2025). CPS reserves the right to not post all calls for service in order to protect the identity of the victims.
