DOMESTIC ASSAULT, DOMESTIC ASSAULT WITH WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 9, 2024, and charged with three counts of domestic assault and three counts of domestic assault with a weapon. It is alleged the man assaulted his spouse on Feb. 20, 2024, March 23, 2024, and June 23, 2024. It is also alleged he assaulted her with a weapon on March 10, 2024, June 29, 2024, and July 6, 2024. Police were contacted on July 9, 2024, and an investigation ensued. The man was later located by police. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 30, 2024. The man’s name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Andy Shaver, 54, of Cornwall, was arrested on July 9, 2024, and charged with two counts of theft under $5,000. It is alleged on July 4, 2024, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. It is also alleged on July 6, 2024, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, once again selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. On July 9, 2024, the man entered the same Ninth Street West business; police were contacted and an investigation ensued. He was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The man was released to appear in court on Aug. 13, 2024.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – Jonathan Charlebois, 36, of Cornwall, was arrested on July 9, 2024, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on June 19, 2024, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to reside with his surety at a specific address and to remain in his residence between specific hours. On this date, police responded to a complaint and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man allegedly breached his curfew and was not residing at the specific address he was supposed to be living at. On July 9, 2024, he was located by police at the courthouse. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY, IMPAIRED OPERATION

Cornwall, ON – John Pecore, 42, of Cornwall, was arrested on July 9, 2024, and charged with three counts of fail to comply with probation order and one count of impaired operation. It is alleged on May 4, 2024, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, to not possess or consume alcohol or other intoxicating substances and to not possess or consume any unlawful drugs. On this date, police responded to an impaired driver call and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man was operating his motor vehicle under the influence of drugs. On July 9, 2024, the man was located by police. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Aug. 13, 2024.
