FRAUD, POSSESSION PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, USE FORGED DOCUMENT
Cornwall, ON – A 52-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 13, 2026, and charged with the following:
- Fraud under $5,000
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Use, deals, acts on forged document
On Oct. 15, 2025, a Community Safety Officer with the Cornwall Police Service began investigating a fraud complaint. It is alleged from Sept. 24, 2025, to Oct. 3, 2025, the man was in possession of fraudulent cheques and used the cheques to obtain money and/or property through fraudulent means. It is further alleged he knowingly presented forged cheques as legitimate documents. As a result of the investigation, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On July 13, 2026, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Aug. 25, 2026.
MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON – A 41-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on July 13, 2026, and charged with mischief – destroys or damages property. It is alleged on July 10, 2026, the woman damaged her ex-boyfriend’s motor vehicle by smashing its windows. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest. On July 13, 2026, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Aug. 4, 2026.
THEFT
Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on July 13, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000. On July 10, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to a theft complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the youth stole several items from the residence of an individual known to her. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for her arrest. On July 13, 2026, the youth attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was released to appear in court at a later date.
UTTERING THREATS, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE
Cornwall, ON – A 13-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on July 13, 2026, and charged with three counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and one count of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose. On July 13, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to a park in the City of Cornwall for a disturbance, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the youth uttered threats to physically harm several individuals at the park and brandished an edged weapon. He was subsequently located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was released to appear in court at a later date.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT, UTTERING THREATS
Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 13, 2026, and charged with the following:
- Domestic assault
- Forcible confinement
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm – domestic
On July 8, 2026, a CPS detective commenced an investigation into multiple occurrences involving intimate partner violence. It is alleged between June 14, 2026, and July 8, 2026, the man assaulted his ex-spouse, confined the woman and threatened to physically harm her. As a result of the investigation, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On July 13, 2026, the man was located by CPS detectives. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on July 13, 2026, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with probation order. On July 9, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to a bail violation complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on July 1, 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour as well as a second probation order with the relevant condition to not attend her father’s residence in the City of Cornwall. It is further alleged on this date, the woman attended her father’s residence. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for her arrest. On July 13, 2026, the woman was located by CPS officers. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
FAIL TO ATTEND, FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 13, 2026, on the strength of outstanding warrants and additionally charged with fail to comply with undertaking.
It is alleged on Feb. 22, 2024, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to attend court as per undertaking. It is also alleged on March 12, 2024, the man was scheduled to attend court and once again failed to do so. A second warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to attend court as per undertaking.
On July 13, 2026, CPS officers responded to a disturb the peace complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to notify the CPS in writing within 24 hours or any change of address. The man was subsequently located by police and it is further alleged he failed to notify police of a change of address. The warrants were executed, he was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
SEXUAL ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old man from Brockville was arrested on July 13, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. On May 15, 2024, a CPS officer initiated an investigation into a sexual assault complaint. It is alleged in May 2024, the man sexually assaulted his girlfriend. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of sexual assault. On July 13, 2026, he was taken into custody by members of the Brockville Police Service and subsequently turned over to the CPS. The warrant was executed and the man was held for a bail hearing.
