MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – Natalia Harhala, 21, of Cornwall, was arrested on July 16, 2024, and charged with mischief under $5,000. It is alleged on July 16, 2024, the woman damaged property at her place of residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. She was released to appear in court on Sept. 5, 2024.  

WARRANT, MISCHIEF, DOMESTIC ASSAULT, DOMESTIC ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, POINTING FIREARM, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE, UNAUTHORIZED POSSESSION, UTTERING THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 51-year-old Brossard, QC, man was arrested on July 16, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with the following:

  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Domestic assault
  • Domestic assault with a weapon
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm - domestic
  • Two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm

On Sept. 7, 2023, a historical domestic dispute was reported to the CPS and an investigation ensued. It is alleged the man damaged property in his girlfriend’s residence and assaulted the woman. It is also alleged he brandished a firearm, pointed it at his girlfriend and threatened to kill her. Furthermore, it is alleged the man threated to kill her two children. As a result of the investigation, a warrant was issued for his arrest. On July 15, 2024, the man was released from a Quebec facility and subsequently turned over to members of the CPS. The warrant was executed, the man was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

WARRANT, FAIL TO COMPLY, CARRYING CONCEALED WEAPON, UNAUTHORIZED POSSESSION OF FIREARM, POSSESSION OF FIREARM FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE, POINTING A FIREARM, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, UTTERING THREATS, ROBBERY

Cornwall, ON – David Paul, 32, of Orleans, ON, was arrested on July 16, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with the following:

  • Six counts of fail to comply with release order
  • Four counts of fail to comply with probation order
  • Two counts of possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
  • Carrying concealed weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Firearm - use while committing offence
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Robbery using firearm - restricted or prohibited
  • Conspiracy to commit indictable offence
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was firearm

It is alleged on June 25, 2024, the man was bound by two separate release orders with the relevant conditions to remain in his residence at all times, to not attend the City of Cornwall and to not possess any weapons. It is also alleged on this date, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, to not communicate in any way with people who sell, traffic, or use drugs or have drugs in their possession, to expressly refrain from possessing, carrying or acquiring for any reason weapons, offensive or restrictive weapons or imitation weapons and to refrain from being in a place where illegal drugs are used, sold, trafficked or distributed. Furthermore, it is alleged on this date, the man was bound by two separate prohibition orders with the relevant condition prohibiting the man from possessing any firearm, crossbow, restricted weapon, ammunition and explosive substance for life.

It is alleged on June 25, 2024, the man attended a City of Cornwall residence, where individuals were involved in drug trafficking. It is also alleged on this date, he was in possession of a firearm, brandished the weapon and assaulted an individual known to him with the firearm. Furthermore, it is alleged the man pointed the firearm at the individual and threatened to kill him. Finally, it is alleged the man robbed the individual. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for the man’s arrest.

On July 16, 2024, the man was taken into custody by members of the Ottawa Police Service and subsequently turned over to the CPS. The warrant was executed and the man was charged accordingly. He was held for a bail hearing.

POSSESSION OF FIREARM CONTRARY TO PROHIBITION ORDER, POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE FOR PURPOSE OF TRAFFICKING

Cornwall, ON – Shaine Robertson, 37, of Cornwall, was arrested on July 17, 2024, and charged with possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order and possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking. It is alleged on July 17, 2024, the man was bound by a weapons prohibition order. On this date, police conducted a traffic stop and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man was allegedly in possession of a weapon and a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Aug. 22, 2024.  

FAIL TO COMPLY, POSSESSION OF FIREARM CONTRARY TO PROHIBITION ORDER, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCES FOR PURPOSE OF TRAFFICKING

Cornwall, ON – Ryan Royer, 31, of Gloucester, ON, was arrested on July 17, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Two counts of fail to comply with probation order
  • Fail to comply with undertaking
  • Four counts of possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine

It is alleged on July 17, 2024, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not possess any weapons. It is also alleged on this date, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not be found in the driver’s seat of any motor vehicle. Furthermore, it is alleged on this date, the man was bound by four separate weapons prohibition orders. On July 17, 2024, police conducted a traffic stop and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man was allegedly driving the motor vehicle. Additionally, he was allegedly in possession of a weapon, in possession of property obtained by crime and in possession of Schedule I substances for the purpose of trafficking. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
