THREE INDIVIDUALS FACE CHARGES AS A RESULT OF SEARCH WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – On the morning of July 17, 2025, members of the Cornwall Police Service executed a search warrant in the area of Laflin Street with the assistance of the Cornwall Emergency Response Team (CERT) and the Ontario Provincial Police’s K9 unit.
Investigative efforts by the Criminal Investigation Division (CID), in relation to recent break and enters and theft of property in the City of Cornwall, led to the following arrests:
A 52-year-old man from Cornwall was charged with the following:
- Fail to comply with probation order
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Possession of property with obliterated vehicle identification number
A 40-year-old man from Cornwall was charged with two the following:
- Four counts of fail to comply with release order
- Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Possession of property with obliterated vehicle identification number
A 38-year-old woman from Cornwall was charged with the following:
- Two counts of fail to comply with release order
- Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Possession of property with obliterated vehicle identification number
- Obstruct peace officer
As a result of the search warrant on July 17, 2025, a utility trailer, a camping trailer and an unidentified trailer bearing an obliterated VIN were recovered. Several other items confirmed as stolen property were also recovered – including doors, windows, a furnace, pressure-treated wood and tools.
The individuals were located during the search warrant, taken into custody and charged accordingly.
The 53-year-old man was held for a bail hearing, while the 40-year-old man and the 38-year-old woman were later released to each appear in court on Aug. 21, 2025.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old woman from Alexandria was arrested on July 17, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on July 10, 2025, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On July 17, 2025, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed, and she was released to appear in court on Aug. 21, 2025.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – A 41-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on July 17, 2025, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on July 10, 2025, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On July 17, 2025, the woman attended police headquarters to address a separate matter. The warrant was executed, and she was released to appear in court on Aug. 21, 2025.
UTTERING THREATS
Cornwall, ON – A 70-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 17, 2025, and charged with uttering threats – damage to property. It is alleged on July 17, 2025, the man attended a Tollgate Road West business and threatened to later return to the store and smash items with a sledgehammer. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was subsequently located by police. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Aug. 21, 2025.
FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old man from North Dundas, ON, was arrested on July 18, 2025, and charged with the following:
- Fail to comply with probation order
- Fail to comply with release order
- Theft under $5,000 – shoplifting
It is alleged in the early morning hours of July 18, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, as well as a release order with the relevant condition to remain in his residence daily between specific hours. It is also alleged on this date, the man attended a Second Street East convenience store, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was held for a bail hearing.
