CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, UTTERING THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 53-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 20, 2026, and charged with the following:

  • Criminal harassment – repeatedly follow
  • Criminal harassment – repeatedly communicate
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm – domestic

On July 20, 2026, a Cornwall Police Service officer initiated an investigation into a report of harassment. It is alleged on July 19, 2026, the man repeatedly followed and communicated with his ex-spouse, causing the woman to fear for her safety. It is further alleged he threatened to cause bodily harm to her. Later on July 20, 2026, the man was located by a CPS detective. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. 

SHOPLIFTING, ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 20, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting and assault. It is alleged on June 9, 2026, the man attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. It is further alleged he assaulted the Loss Prevention Officer at the business. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. As a result of the investigation, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for the man’s arrest. On July 20, 2026, he was located by a CPS officer at a correctional facility. The man was charged accordingly and returned to cells to await a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 20, 2026, and charged with the following:

  • Two counts of fail to comply with probation order
  • Fail to comply with non-communication order
  • Harassing communications
  • Mischief under $5,000

On July 4, 2026, a member of the CPS was dispatched to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged between May 26, 2026, and July 4, 2026, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, as well as a non-communication order with the relevant condition to not communicate directly or indirectly with his ex-girlfriend. It is also alleged between May 26, 2026, and July 4, 2026, the man harassed his ex-girlfriend by making repeated telephone calls to the woman. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest.

It is further alleged on July 20, 2026, the man was once again bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged on this date, the man attended Lamoureux Park and damaged property by painting graffiti on the floor and walls of the bandshell. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result of the investigation, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest.

On July 20, 2026, the man was located by a CPS officer at a correctional facility. He was charged accordingly and returned to cells to await a bail hearing.
