CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, HARASSING COMMUNICATIONS

Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 22, 2026, and charged with criminal harassment – repeatedly communicate and harassing communications. On July 21, 2026, a Cornwall Police Service officer was dispatched to investigate an intimate partner violence complaint. It is alleged the man harassed his ex-spouse by repeatedly communicating with her via telecommunication, causing the woman to reasonably fear for her safety. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. On July 22, 2026, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Aug. 11, 2026.

FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 22, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on July 14, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to attend for court as per undertaking. On July 22, 2026, the man was located by a CPS detective, who was investigating an unrelated matter. The warrant was executed and he was held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on July 22, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and additionally charged with fail to comply with probation order and theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.

It is alleged between Aug. 18, 2025, and May 3, 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to report in person to a probation officer within two working days of her release from custody and after that, at all times and places as directed by the probation officer. It is also alleged she failed to report to the probation officer. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of fail to comply with probation order.

It is further alleged on April 27, 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged on this date, she attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted, and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest.

On July 22, 2026, the woman was located by CPS officers, who were investigating an unrelated matter. The warrant was executed, she was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Aug. 25, 2026.
