WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Maryam Fisher-Nasr, 19, of Cornwall, was arrested on July 26, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on July 11, 2024, the woman was scheduled to appear in court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On July 26, 2024, the woman was located by police during general patrol. The warrant was executed and the woman was held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY, OPERATION WHILE IMPAIRED, REFUSAL, FAILURE TO STOP AFTER ACCIDENT

Cornwall, ON – Namasivayam Thuraisingam, 57, of Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC, was arrested on July 26, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Fail to comply with undertaking
  • Failure to stop after accident
  • Operation while impaired
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand

It is alleged on July 26, 2024, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not be in the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content over zero. It is alleged on this date, that while operating his motor vehicle, the man hit another individual’s vehicle and failed to remain at the scene. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located and the investigation revealed he was allegedly operating his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. While police were conducting an impaired operation investigation, the man allegedly refused to comply with the demand to complete a standardized field sobriety test. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Aug. 13, 2024.

FAIL TO COMPLY, DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 27, 2024, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with undertaking and one count of domestic assault. It is alleged on July 27, 2024, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant conditions to not associate or communicate with his ex-girlfriend and to not be within 50 metres of her. On July 27, 2024, police responded to a domestic assault complaint and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man attended his ex-girlfriend’s residence and assaulted her. He was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. The man’s name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on July 27, 2024, and charged with assault. It is alleged on July 27, 2024, the youth assaulted his step-mother. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The youth was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Christopher Stirrett, 38, of Cornwall, was arrested on July 27, 2024, and charged with assault. It is alleged on July 17, 2024, the man assaulted an individual known to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On July 27, 2024, the man was located by police. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Aug. 27, 2024.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Nathan Quesnel, 19, of Martintown, was arrested on July 28, 2024, and charged with impaired operation and over 80. On July 28, 2024, police responded to a possible impaired driver in the area of Eleventh Street East and McConnell Avenue and an investigation ensued. The man was subsequently located by police in the area of Brookdale Avenue and Ninth Street West. The investigation revealed he was allegedly operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Aug. 13, 2024.

SHOPLIFTING, FAIL TO COMPLY, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – Aaron Campeau, 41, of Cornwall, was arrested on July 28, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Two counts of theft under $5,000
  • Fail to comply with release order
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

It is alleged on July 16, 2024, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

Furthermore, it is alleged on July 28, 2024, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not possess any weapons. It is alleged on this date, the man attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located and the investigation revealed he was also allegedly in possession of an edged weapon. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

THEFT

Cornwall, ON – William Litwinowich, 40, of Cornwall, was arrested on July 28, 2024, and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged on July 25, 2024, the man stole a bicycle. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On July 28, 2024, the man was located by police. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Sept. 5, 2024.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Shibu John, 44, of Cornwall, was arrested on July 28, 2024, and charged with impaired operation and over 80. On July 28, 2024, police responded to a motor vehicle collision in the area of Bellwood Drive and an investigation ensued. The man was located by police and the investigation revealed he was allegedly operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Aug. 22, 2024.
