ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, UTTERING THREATS
Cornwall, ON – A 46-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 2, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant.
In the early morning hours of June 6, 2026, members of the Cornwall Police Service responded to an assault complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man threw a soda can at an individual known to him and uttered threats to cause them harm. As a result of the investigation, a warrant was issued for his arrest on the charges of assault with a weapon and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
On July 2, 2026, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed and he was held for a bail hearing.
IMPAIRED BY DRUG
Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on July 2, 2026, and charged with operation while impaired – drugs. On July 2, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to the area of Marlborough Street and Second Street East for a possible impaired driver complaint, and an investigation ensued. The woman was subsequently located by police and the investigation revealed she was allegedly operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on July 28, 2026.
BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE, UTTERING THREATS, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON
Cornwall, ON – A 54-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 2, 2026, and charged with the following:
- Breach of recognizance
- Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
- Assault with a weapon
On July 2, 2026, CPS officers responded to a disturbance in the area of Brookdale Avenue, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a recognizance with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged he was in possession of an edged weapon and threatened an individual, constituting assault with a weapon. The man was subsequently located by police and taken into custody. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on July 2, 2026, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with undertaking. It is alleged on July 2, 2026, the youth was bound by an undertaking with the relevant conditions to not communicate directly or indirectly with two specific individuals or be anywhere they may be or are known to frequent. On this date, a CPS officer was on general patrol in the City of Cornwall and observed the youth to be in the presence of the two individuals she was prohibited from communicating with. She was taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was released to appear in court at a later date.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on July 2, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged from Aug. 2, 2024, to July 14, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to report in person to a probation officer within two working days of his release from custody, to attend and actively participate in all assessment, counselling or rehabilitate programs as directed by the probation officer and to make restitution to a local business. It is further alleged he failed to do so, and as a result, a warrant was issued for his arrest on the charges of three counts of fail to comply with probation order. On July 2, 2026, the man was located by CPS officers, who were dealing with an unrelated matter. The warrant was executed and he was later released to appear in court on Aug. 13, 2026.
