ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on May 29, 2026, and charged with two counts of assault and one count of assault with a weapon. On May 25, 2026, Cornwall Police Service officers were dispatched to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the youth threw an object at and assaulted an individual known to her and further assaulted a second individual. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for her arrest. On May 29, 2026, the youth was located by the investigating officer. She attended police headquarters, was taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was released to appear in court at a later date.

FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on May 29, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on May 19, 2026, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of fail to comply with summons – court. On May 29, 2026, the woman was located by police who were dealing with an unrelated matter. The warrant was executed and she was released to appear in court on July 14, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY, FAIL TO ATTEND, OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED, HAVE CARE OF VEHICLE WITH CANNABIS OPEN

Cornwall, ON – A 41-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 29, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and also charged with the following:

  • Two counts of fail to comply with probation order
  • Operation while prohibited
  • Have care or control of vehicle with cannabis in open original packaging

It is alleged on March 27, 2026, the man was bound by two separate probation orders, each with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged on this date, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charges of two counts of fail to comply with probation order and one count of fail to comply with appearance notice – appearance.

On May 29, 2026, a CPS patrol officer initiated a traffic stop, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by two separate probation orders, each with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle while prohibited, did have the care or control of a vehicle, containing cannabis and committed several offences under the Highway Traffic Act.

The man was taken into custody by the CPS officer. The warrant was executed, he was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.  

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 44-year-old man from Finch was arrested on May 30, 2026, and charged with domestic assault. On May 30, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to an intimate partner violence call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man assaulted his girlfriend. He was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The man was released to appear in court at a later date.

FAIL TO COMPLY, UTTERING THREATS, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 30, 2026, and charged with the following:

  • Fail to comply with youth sentence order
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose

On May 30, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to a family dispute, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a youth sentence order with the relevant condition to not possess any weapons. It is further alleged the man threatened to cause physical harm to his father. Further investigation revealed he was also in possession of an edged weapon. The man was located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was later released to appear in court on July 2, 2026.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 30, 2026, and charged with two counts of domestic assault. On May 25, 2026, a CPS officer began investigating an intimate partner violence complaint. It is alleged that on two separate occasions, the man assaulted his spouse. As a result, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. On May 30, 2026, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on June 23, 2026.

FAIL TO ATTEND, FAIL TO COMPLY, DOMESTIC ASSAULT, DOMESTIC ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, UTTERING THREATS, DANGEROUS OPERATION, MISCHIEF, FLIGHT FROM PEACE OFFICER, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT, ARSON

Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 31, 2026, on the strength of outstanding warrants and also charged with the following:

  • Three counts of fail to comply with probation order
  • Dangerous operation
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property
  • Flight from peace officer
  • Forcible Confinement
  • Mischief – renders property dangerous, useless, inoperative or ineffective
  • Arson – damage to property
  • Possession of incendiary material

It is alleged on Feb. 12, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to attend court – as per undertaking.

On March 6, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on March 4, 2026, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to not possess weapons. It is further alleged on this date, the man assaulted his girlfriend, brandished an edged weapon while assaulting the woman and threatened to kill her. As a result of the investigation, a warrant was issued for his arrest on the charges of:

  • Fail to comply with probation order
  • Domestic assault
  • Domestic assault with a Weapon
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm – domestic

It is alleged from March 18, 2026, and April 14, 2026, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to report in person to a probation officer and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to comply with probation order.

It is alleged on March 30, 2026, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged on this date, the man was observed by police to be operating a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner, damaged property of a City of Cornwall resident with the motor vehicle and failed to stop for a peace officer. As a result of the investigation, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest.

On May 31, 2026, police were dispatched to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on May 31, 2026, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not possess any weapons. It is also alleged he confined his girlfriend and rendered her motor vehicle inoperable. It is further alleged the man intentionally or recklessly caused damage by fire to his girlfriend’s motor vehicle and had in his possession incendiary material for the purpose of committing the offence of arson.

He was subsequently located by CPS officers and taken into custody. The warrants were executed, the man was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on May 31, 2026, and charged with two counts of assault and one count of mischief under $5,000. On May 31, 2026, CPS officers responded to a disturbance complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the youth assaulted his mother and her friend and damaged his mother’s property. The youth was located by police and taken into custody. He was charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and released to appear in court at a later date.

Later on May 31, 2026, it is alleged the youth once again assaulted his mother and damaged her property. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The youth was located by a CPS officer and taken into custody. He was once again charged under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on June 1, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. On May 26, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to a family dispute, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on May 23, 2026, and May 26, 2026, the man assaulted his mother with household items. It is further alleged on May 26, 2026, he damaged her property. As a result of the investigation, a warrant was issued for the man’s arrest on the charges of two counts of assault with a weapon and one count of mischief – destroys or damages property. In the early morning hours of June 1, 2026, the man was located by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol in the City of Cornwall. The warrant was executed and he was later released to appear in court on July 14, 2026.
