Media Release - June 2, 2026

FAIL TO COMPLY, ASSAULT, UTTERING THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on June 1, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant.

On May 27, 2026, a Cornwall Police Service officer was dispatched to an assault complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on May 22, 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged on this date, she assaulted her neighbour and threatened to cause bodily harm to the woman.

As a result of the investigation, a warrant was issued for her arrest on the charges of:

  • Fail to comply with probation order
  • Assault
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm

On June 1, 2026, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed and she was released to appear in court on July 2, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old youth from Greely, ON, was arrested on June 1, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with release order. It is alleged from April 8, 2026, to April 29, 2026, the youth was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not associate or communicate in any way with a specific individual. It is further alleged from April 8, 2026, to April 29, 2026, the youth communicated with the individual he was prohibited from contacting via social media applications. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On June 1, 2026, the youth attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY, BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on June 1, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and break and enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence. It is alleged on June 1, 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged on this date, she broke into the residence of an individual known to her and committed mischief. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was subsequently located by police and taken into custody. She was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY, DOMESTIC ASSAULT, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on June 2, 2026, and charged with the following:  

  • Three counts of fail to comply with probation order
  • Domestic assault
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property

In the early morning hours of June 2, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to an intimate partner violence call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, to not contact or communicate in any way with his girlfriend and to not be within 100 metres of any place he knows the woman to live, work or frequent. It is further alleged the man was in contact with his girlfriend, assaulted the woman and damaged her cell phone. He was located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The man was held for a bail hearing.
