FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 52-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on March 11, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Sept. 8, 2025, the man was bound by two separate probation orders, each with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, the man attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest on the charges of two counts of fail to comply with probation order and one count of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. On March 11, 2026, the man was located at the courthouse by a Cornwall Police Service officer. The warrant was executed and he was released to appear in court on June 16, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on March 11, 2026, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with undertaking. On March 11, 2026, a CPS officer conducted a traffic stop, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not communicate with her ex-boyfriend and to not go to any place he is known to be. It is further alleged the woman was in communication with her ex-boyfriend, who was a passenger in the motor vehicle. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 50-year-old woman from Akwesasne was arrested on March 11, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on Dec. 22, 2025, the woman attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the item. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for her arrest. On March 11, 2026, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 21, 2026.
