FAIL TO COMPLY, UTTERING THREATS TO CAUSE DEATH OR BODILY HARM, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – A 22-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 18, 2025, and charged with the following:

• Three counts of fail to comply with probation order
• Two counts of fail to comply with release order
• Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
• Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
• Assault with a weapon

It is alleged on Feb. 27, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, to not possess any weapons and to not possess any gaming console. It is also alleged on this date, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to notify the Cornwall Police Service within 24 hours of any change of address and to not possess any weapons.

On Feb. 27, 2025, members of the CPS responded to a threats complaint and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man was in possession of a gaming console and allegedly threatened to kill an individual known to him in his sleep. Furthermore, it is alleged, the man brandished an edged weapon and made threats to kill the individual while holding the weapon in his heads.

On March 18, 2025, the man was located by a member of the CPS. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on March 18, 2025, and charged with assault. It is alleged on Feb. 20, 2025, the youth assaulted another student at school. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 18, 2025, the youth attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 41-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 18, 2025, and charged with assault. It is alleged on March 18, 2025, the man assaulted an individual known to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. He was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The man was released to appear in court on April 22, 2025.
