FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on March 18, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with release order. On Jan. 15, 2026, members of the Cornwall Police Service responded to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to remain in his residence between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. It is further alleged the man breached his curfew, and as a result, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. On March 18, 2026, the man was located at the courthouse, where he was in custody. He was charged accordingly and returned to cells to await a bail hearing.

ASSAULT, ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM, OBSTRUCT PEACE OFFICER

Cornwall, ON – A 53-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on March 18, 2026, and charged with the following:

  • Assault
  • Assault causing bodily harm – choke, suffocate or strangle
  • Obstruct peace officer

On March 18, 2026, CPS officers responded to an intimate partner violence call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man assaulted and choked his girlfriend’s daughter. He fled the scene but was subsequently located by a member of the CPS. It is further alleged the man obstructed the officer. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on March 18, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with undertaking and fail to comply with probation order. On March 18, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to the Port of Entry, in regard to an intimate partner violence breach. It is alleged on this date, the youth was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not communicate with her boyfriend. She was also bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged on this date, she was accompanied by her boyfriend. The youth was taken into custody by a member of the Canada Border Services Agency and subsequently turned over to a CPS officer. She was charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and released to appear in court at a later date.

CALLS FOR SERVICE: There were 104 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the last 48 hours (8 a.m. Tuesday to 8 a.m. today).
