UTTERING THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 47-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on March 19, 2026, and charged with two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm – domestic. On March 19, 2026, a Cornwall Police Service officer was dispatched to a disturbance call, and an investigation ensued. The man was located and subsequently taken into police custody. It is further alleged he made threats to physically harm his two ex-girlfriends. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on March 19, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on March 19, 2026, the man was bound by two separate probation orders, each with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged on this date, the man attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. He was apprehended by a Loss Prevention Officer, and police were contacted. The man was subsequently turned over to a member of the CPS, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on April 23, 2026.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on March 19, 2026, and charged with two counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on Feb. 9, 2026, and again on Feb. 20, 2026, the youth attended a Marlborough Street business, selected merchandise and exited the store on both occasions without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. As a result, reasonable and probable ground were developed for her arrest. On March 19, 2026, the youth was located by police, who were dealing with an unrelated matter. She was taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was released to appear in court at a later date.

FAIL TO COMPLY, OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old man from Akwesasne was arrested on March 19, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and operation while prohibited. It is alleged on March 19, 2026, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to not drive or have custody or control of any motor vehicle. He was also subject to a Canada-wide driving prohibition. The man was taken into custody by a Canada Border Services Agency officer and subsequently turned over to a member of the CPS. He was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on April 23, 2026.

MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on March 19, 2026, and charged with two counts of mischief over $5,000. On March 19, 2026, a member of the CPS was dispatched to an unwanted person call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man caused damage to one individual’s motor vehicle and residence, as well as to another individual’s motor vehicle. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. Later on March 19, 2026, police responded to another unwanted person complaint, and an investigation ensued. The man was subsequently located by a CPS officer. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on May 5, 2026.
