FAIL TO COMPLY, FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on March 23, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and additionally charged with fail to comply with probation order and fail to comply with release order.

On Feb. 13, 2026, police were dispatched to an intimate partner violence call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, as well a release order with the relevant condition to not contact or communicate with his ex-girlfriend. It is further alleged on this date, the man emailed his ex-girlfriend. As a result of the investigation, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest.  

It is further alleged on Feb. 26, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of failure to attend court after having appeared.

On March 23, 2026, the man was taken into custody by a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE). The warrant was executed, he was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on March 23, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and also charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.

It is alleged on Jan. 11, 2026, the woman attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted, and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest.

It is further alleged on Jan. 14, 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged on this date, she attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for her arrest on the charges of fail to comply with probation order and theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.

On March 23, 2026, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed, she was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 5, 2026.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on March 23, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on May 29, 2025, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On March 23, 2026, the man was located by a CPS officer, who was dealing with an unrelated matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on May 5, 2026.

FAIL TO ATTEND, OBSTRUCT PEACE OFFICER

Cornwall, ON – A 49-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on March 24, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and additionally charged with obstruct peace officer.

It is alleged on Aug. 7, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to comply with appearance notice – court/fingerprinting.

In the early morning hours of March 24, 2026, the man was located by police. It is further alleged on this date, he identified himself to the officer using a false name and a false date of birth. The warrant was executed, he was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
