FAIL TO COMPLY, THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE
Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on March 2, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with sentence order and theft of motor vehicle. On March 1, 2026, a member of the Cornwall Police Service was dispatched to a theft of motor vehicle complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the youth was bound by a sentence order with the relevant condition to not be in the care and control of a motor vehicle. It is further alleged she stole her mother’s vehicle. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for her arrest. On March 2, 2026, the motor vehicle and the youth were located by CPS officers. She was taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was held for a bail hearing.
ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON
Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on March 2, 2026, and charged with assault and assault with a weapon. On March 2, 2026, members of the CPS were dispatched to a 9-1-1 hangup call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman punched her mother and assaulted her with a bottle. The woman was located by police and taken into custody. She was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on March 26, 2026.
