FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old man from Alexandria was arrested on March 27, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with appearance notice. It is alleged on Feb. 24, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On March 27, 2026, the man was taken into custody by members of the Ontario Provincial Police on an unrelated matter, and subsequently turned over to the Cornwall Police Service. He was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on May 5, 2026.

UTTERING THREATS, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old man from Coquitlam, BC, was arrested on March 27, 2026, and charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm – domestic and mischief under $5,000. In the early morning hours, CPS officers responded to a dropped 9-1-1 call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man threatened to kill his girlfriend and damaged her property. He was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The man was held for a bail hearing.

OBSTRUCT PEACE OFFICER

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on March 28, 2026, and charged with obstruct peace officer. On March 28, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to a family dispute, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged the man resisted arrest while being detained. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on April 21, 2026.

REFUSAL

Cornwall, ON – A 47-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on March 29, 2026, and charged with failure or refusal to comply with demand. On March 29, 2026, a CPS officer conducting traffic enforcement on Brookdale Avenue observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was subsequently stopped, and the driver was arrested for stunt driving after allegedly travelling 106 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone. Further investigation revealed the man was allegedly operating his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. While police were conducting an impaired operation investigation, he allegedly refused to comply with the demand to complete a standardized field sobriety test. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on April 21, 2026.

CALLS FOR SERVICE: There were 162 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the weekend (8 a.m. Friday to 8 a.m. today).
