FAIL TO ATTEND
Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old man from Longueuil, QC, was arrested on March 30, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on July 28, 2022, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of failure to attend court while on release order. On March 30, 2026, the man attended the Cornwall Police Service to address the matter. The warrant was executed and he was held for a bail hearing.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old man from Martintown was arrested on March 30, 2026, and charged with three counts of fail to comply with undertaking. On March 29, 2026, CPS officers responded to a break and enter complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant conditions to not associate or communicate with his ex-spouse, to not attend or be within 100 metres of her place of residence and to notify police of any change of address. It is further alleged the man was in communication with his ex-spouse, attended her residence and failed to notify police of a change of address. As a result of the investigation, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On March 30, 2026, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – On March 30, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to a Ninth Street East business in relation to a theft complaint, and an investigation ensued. Two individuals were taken into custody by the Loss Prevention Officer at the business and subsequently turned over to CPS officers. A 16-year-old youth and an 18-year-old man, both from Cornwall, were arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on March 30, 2026, the individuals attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. The 16-year-old youth was charged under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and subsequently released to appear in court at a later date. The 18-year-old man was charged and later released to appear in court on May 14, 2026.
