SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on April 30, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on March 10, 2026, the man attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On April 30, 2026, the man was located at the courthouse by a Cornwall Police Service officer. He was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on June 4, 2026.

VOYEURISM

Cornwall, ON – A 63-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on April 30, 2026, and charged with four counts of voyeurism. On April 23, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to a voyeurism call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on Sept. 20, 2025, Jan. 26, 2026, April 17, 2026, and April 21, 2026, the man knowingly recorded an individual known to him under circumstances where there was a reasonable expectation of privacy. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. On April 30, 2026, the man attended police headquarters in connection with the investigation and was subsequently arrested by a detective. He was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on June 4, 2026.
