FAIL TO COMPLY, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT
Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old man from Akwesasne was arrested on May 12, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. On May 10, 2026, Cornwall Police Service officers were dispatched to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on May 10, 2026, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant conditions to not communicate with his girlfriend and to not go to her address or be within 100 metres of any place she is known or expected to be. It is further alleged on this date, the man communicated with his girlfriend, attended her residence and repeatedly contacted her, causing the woman to fear for her safety. As a result of the investigation, a warrant was issued for his arrest on the charges of two counts of fail to comply with undertaking and one count of criminal harassment – repeatedly communicate. On May 12, 2026, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed and he was released to appear in court on June 9, 2026.
ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED
Cornwall, ON – A 41-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 12, 2026, and charged with assault with a weapon and operation while prohibited. On May 8, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to an assault complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man threw coffee at an individual. Further investigation revealed he was operating a motor vehicle while prohibited from doing so. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. On May 12, 2026, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on June 16, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING, FAIL TO ATTEND
Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on May 12, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and also charged with fail to comply with probation order and theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.
It is alleged on April 14, 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged on this date, she attended a Tollgate Road West business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the item. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest.
It is also alleged on May 5, 2026, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of failure to attend court after having appeared.
On May 12, 2026, the woman was located by police at the courthouse. The warrant was executed, she was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
FAIL TO ATTEND
Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on May 12, 2026, and charged with fail to attend for fingerprinting – as per undertaking. It is alleged on May 4, 2026, the youth was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. Police formed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. On May 12, 2026, the youth attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was released to appear in court at a later date.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 51-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 12, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on May 7, 2026, the man attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On May 12, 2026, the man was located by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol in the City of Cornwall. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on June 16, 2026.
IMPAIRED, OVER 80
Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on May 12, 2026, and charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). On May 12, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to the area of Fifth Street West and Cumberland Street in relation to a motor vehicle collision. The ensuing investigation revealed the woman was operating her motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on June 2, 2026.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 13, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on April 27, 2026, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. In the early morning hours of May 13, 2026, the man was located by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on June 16, 2026.
