RESIST PEACE OFFICER, FLIGHT FROM PEACE OFFICER
Cornwall, ON – A 76-year-old man from Long Sault was arrested on May 13, 2026, and charged with resist peace officer and flight from peace officer. On May 13, 2026, Cornwall Police Service officers were dispatched to an unwanted person complaint at a Second Street East business, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged that while being arrested for a Trespass to Property Act offence, the man resisted arrest and attempted to flee from police. He was apprehended, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The man was later released to appear in court on June 18, 2026.
FAIL TO ATTEND
Cornwall, ON – A 51-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on May 13, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on May 5, 2026, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of fail to comply with appearance notice – court. On May 13, 2026, she attended police headquarters to address the matter. The woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on June 30, 2026.
MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old woman from Brinston, ON, was arrested on May 13, 2026, and charged with mischief – domestic. On May 13, 2026, police responded to an intimate partner violence call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman damaged her boyfriend’s property. She was located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The woman was later released to appear in court on June 9, 2026.
SHOPLIFTING, ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO RESIST ARREST
Cornwall, ON – A 54-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on May 13, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting and assault with intent to resist arrest. It is alleged on May 13, 2026, the woman attended a Brookdale Avenue business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. It is further alleged she assaulted the Loss Prevention Officer at the business. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. She was later released to appear in court on June 16, 2026.
