FAIL TO COMPLY, ASSAULT, ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM
Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on May 19, 2026, on the strength of outstanding warrants and also charged with assault causing bodily harm.
It is alleged from Dec. 28, 2025, to Jan. 28, 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to not contact or communicate in any way with her ex-spouse. It is further alleged she communicated with her ex-spouse on nine separate occasions from Dec. 28, 2025, to Jan. 28, 2026. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, a warrant was issued for her arrest on the charges of nine counts of fail to comply with probation order.
It is alleged on Jan. 14, 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged on this date, the woman assaulted her ex-boyfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charges of fail to comply with probation order and domestic assault.
It is alleged on Feb. 14, 2026, the woman assaulted an individual known to her, causing injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest.
On May 19, 2026, the woman was located and taken into custody by a Cornwall Police Service officer. The outstanding warrants were executed, and she was subsequently charged. The woman was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
POSSESSION, ACCESS CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE AND EXPLOITATION MATERIAL
Cornwall, ON – A 72-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 19, 2026, and charged with the following:
- Possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material
- Access any child sexual abuse and exploitation material
- Imports, distributes, sells or possesses for the purpose of distribution or sale of child sexual abuse and exploitation material
In April 2026, a detective with the CPS Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit initiated an investigation into the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material. On May 6, 2026, officers executed a search warrant as part of the investigation. It is alleged that between Feb. 19, 2026, and May 1, 2026, the man was in possession of, accessed and made available child sexual abuse material. As a result, police formed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. On May 19, 2026, the man was located by police. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 19, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on March 13, 2026, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On May 19, 2026, the man was located by police at the courthouse. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on June 30, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on May 19, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with undertaking. On May 16, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged from May 9, 2026, to May 16, 2026, the woman was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not contact or communicate with her ex-spouse. It is further alleged the woman texted and called her ex-spouse. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for her arrest. On May 19, 2026, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
THEFT
Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 19, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged on May 19, 2026, the man stole an individual’s bicycle and cell phone. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. He was subsequently located by police. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on June 30, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY, POSSESSION OF FIREARM CONTRARY TO PROHIBITION ORDER, UNAUTHORIZED POSSESSION OF WEAPON, OCCUPANT OF MOTOR VEHICLE KNOWING THERE WAS PROHIBITED WEAPON
Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on May 19, 2026, and charged with the following:
- Fail to comply with release order
- Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a prohibited or restricted weapon
On May 11, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to an ambulance assist call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not possess any weapons. It is further alleged the woman was in unauthorized possession of a prohibited edged weapon while occupying a motor vehicle and knowing the weapon was present. The woman was also allegedly found to be in violation of multiple offences under the Highway Traffic Act. As a result of the investigation, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest. On May 19, 2026, the woman attended police headquarters. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
FAIL TO COMPLY, UTTERING THREATS, DOMESTIC ASSAULT, MISCHIEF, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT
Cornwall, ON – A 46-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 19, 2026, and charged with the following:
- Fail to comply with probation order
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm – domestic
- Two counts of domestic assault
- Mischief under $5,000
- Criminal harassment – repeatedly communicate
On May 19, 2026, CPS officers responded to a family dispute, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged the man threatened to physically harm his ex-spouse. Further, it is alleged he assaulted the woman and damaged her property. Finally, it is alleged the man repeatedly communicated with his ex-spouse, causing the woman to fear for her safety. The man was subsequently located by police and taken into custody. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
MISCHIEF, ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM, UTTERING THREATS
Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 20, 2026, and charged with the following:
- Three counts of mischief under $5,000
- Two counts of assault causing bodily harm – choke, suffocate or strangle
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm – domestic
- Uttering threats to cause damage to property
In the early morning hours of May 20, 2026, CPS officers responded to an intimate partner violence call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on April 18, 2026, May 19, 2026, and May 20, 2026, the man damaged property inside the residence. Further investigation revealed that on May 9, 2026, and May 20, 2026, the man allegedly choked his girlfriend, causing injuries. It is further alleged on May 9, 2026, the man threatened to cause bodily harm to the woman, and on May 20, 2026, he also threatened to damage her motor vehicle. He was subsequently located by police and taken into custody. The man was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
