THREATS
Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old man and 36-year-old woman, both of Cornwall, were arrested on May 22, 2026, and charged with multiple counts of uttering threats. It is alleged on May 22, 2026, the man and woman threatened to cause harm to and damage the property of another individual. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. Both parties were located, taken into custody, and charged as follows:
- The 36-year-old man was charged with two counts of uttering threats and was released to appear in court on June 30, 2026.
- The 36-year-old woman was charged with four counts of uttering threats and was released to appear in court on June 30, 2026.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old woman of Cornwall was arrested on May 22, 2026, on the strength of outstanding warrants. It is alleged between Aug. 28, 2025, and Sept. 23, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to notify probation of any change of address, report to probation within two days of being released from custody, and to live at an address approved of by a probation officer. She failed to do so resulting in a warrant being issued for three counts of failing to comply with probation. On May 22, 2026, the woman attended the Port of Entry and was taken into custody by Border Service Officers. She was turned over to CPS and the warrant was executed. She was released to appear in court on June 30, 2026.
THEFT, BREAK AND ENTER, FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on May 23, 2026, and charged with the following:
- One count of theft under $5,000
- Six counts of failing to comply with a release order
- One count of break and enter
- One count of possession of a weapon
- One count of possession of property obtained by crime
It is alleged that on Jan. 11, 2026, the woman was bound by a release order with conditions to remain at her residence, not attend Cornwall without her surety, and not attend a Ninth Street retail store. It is further alleged that on this date, the woman attended the Ninth Street retail store without her surety, selected merchandise, and left the store without attempting to pay for it. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
Furthermore, it is alleged that on May 22, 2026, the woman broke into a residence in the city of Cornwall. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
Furthermore, it is alleged that on May 23, 2026, police were contacted regarding a suspicious person who had returned to the same address. It is alleged that the woman was bound by a release order with conditions to reside at a specific address, not possess any weapons, and remain in her residence. It is also alleged that on this date, the woman returned to the residence while brandishing a weapon.
She was located and taken into custody by police, and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed that she was in possession of stolen property and was not residing at the address specified in her release order. She was held for a bail hearing.
SEXUAL ASSAULT, DANGEROUS OPERATION, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT HARASSMENT
Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 23, 2026, and charged with the following:
- One count of sexual assault
- One count of dangerous operation
- One count of forcible confinement
- Three counts of criminal harassment
It is alleged that on May 17, 2026, the man was waiting outside his ex-girlfriend’s residence and followed her in his vehicle after she left the residence. It is also alleged that the man blocked her vehicle with his own, entered her vehicle, and sexually assaulted her.
Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed that the man had repeatedly attempted to contact the victim, causing her to fear for her safety.
On May 23, 2026, the man was located, taken into custody, and held for a bail hearing.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 53-year-old man of Cornwall was arrested on May 23, 2026, and charged with assault. It is alleged on May 23, 2026, the man assaulted his girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.
CALLS FOR SERVICE: There were 174 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the weekend (8 a.m. Friday to 8 a.m. today).
