FAIL TO COMPLY, FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 41-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on May 27, 2026, on the strength an outstanding warrant and also charged with fail to comply with probation order and fail to comply with appearance notice – fingerprinting.

On May 7, 2026, Cornwall Police Service officers were dispatched to an intimate partner violence breach of probation call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, to not be within 50 metres of any place she knows her ex-boyfriend to live and to not attend his address. It is further alleged on this date, the woman attended her boyfriend’s residence. As a result of the investigation, a warrant was issued for her arrest on the charges of three counts of fail to comply with probation order.

It is alleged on May 19, 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged on this date, she was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest.

On May 27, 2026, the woman was located by police at the courthouse. The warrant was executed, she was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FRAUD, POSSESSION PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, LAUNDERING PROCEEDS OF CRIME, CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT INDICTABLE OFFENCE

Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 27, 2026, and charged with the following:

  • Fraud over $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Laundering proceeds of crime
  • Conspiracy to commit indictable offence

In October 2025, the CPS began a fraud investigation involving a business in the City of Cornwall. It is alleged between May 26, 2025, and Sept. 24, 2025, the man defrauded a local business of money through deceit, falsehood or other fraudulent means, possessed property knowing it was obtained through the commission of an indictable offence, transferred proceeds of property in an effort to conceal or convert them while knowing or believing they were obtained through criminal activity and conspired with another individual to commit fraud. As a result of the lengthy investigation, a CPS detective developed reasonable and probable grounds for the man’s arrest. On May 27, 2026, he attended police headquarters to address the matter. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on May 27, 2026, and charged with assault. It is alleged on May 27, 2026, the woman assaulted a taxi driver. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. She was subsequently located by CPS officers and taken into custody. The woman was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 30, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY, BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on May 28, 2026, and charged with three counts of fail to comply with probation order and one count of break and enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence. On May 15, 2026, police were dispatched to a break and enter call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not have contact with a specific individual, as well as a second probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged on this date, the woman was in contact with the individual she was prohibited from communicating with and unlawfully entered the residence of a person known to her. As a result of the investigation, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest. In the early morning hours of May 28, 2026, CPS officers responded to a disturb the peace call, and an investigation ensued. The woman was subsequently located by police and taken into custody. She was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on June 30, 2026.
