SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 54-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 7, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Sept. 26, 2025, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. As a result, a warrant was issued for the man’s arrest on the charge of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. On May 7, 2026, he was located by a Cornwall Police Service officer, who was on general patrol in the City of Cornwall. The warrant was executed and the man was released to appear in court on June 16, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING, FAIL TO ATTEND
Cornwall, ON – A 57-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 7, 2026, on the strength of outstanding warrants and additionally charged with four counts of fail to comply with probation order and three counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.
It is alleged on Jan. 4, 2026, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour as well as a second probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Ninth Street West business. It is further alleged on this date, the man attended the Ninth Street West business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, a warrant was issued for his arrest on the charges of three counts of fail to comply with probation order and one count of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.
It is alleged on Jan. 10, 2026, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, he attended another Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. It is further alleged that later on Jan. 10, 2026, the man was bound by two probation orders, each with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged on this date, he re-attended the same Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and once again exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and investigations ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest.
It is alleged on Jan. 12, 2026, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged on this date, he attended Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest.
Finally, it is alleged on March 24, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to comply with appearance notice.
On May 7, 2026, the man was located by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol. The warrants were executed, he was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
FAIL TO ATTEND
Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 7, 2026, on the strength of outstanding warrants. It is alleged on March 27, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to comply with appearance notice – fingerprinting. It is also alleged on April 3, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to comply with appearance notice – court. On May 7, 2026, the man was taken into custody by members of the Ontario Provincial Police and subsequently turned over to the CPS. The warrants were executed and he was held for a bail hearing.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 7, 2026, and charged with four counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.
It is alleged on March 8, 2026, the man attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest.
It is also alleged on March 18 and twice on March 21, 2026, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and exited the store on each occasion without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and investigations ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest.
On May 7, 2026, the man was located by police at the courthouse. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on June 16, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY, HARASSING COMMUNICATIONS, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on May 7, 2026, and charged with the following:
- Two counts of fail to comply with probation order
- Harassing communications
- Criminal harassment – repeatedly communicate
- Mischief – obstructs, interrupts or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property
On May 2, 2026, a member of the CPS initiated an investigation after receiving a complaint of intimate partner violence-related harassment. It is alleged on May 2, 2026, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not contact or communicate in any way with his ex-girlfriend. It is further alleged the man sent harassing communications and repeatedly contacted his ex-girlfriend, causing her to fear for her safety. Finally, it is alleged the man committed mischief by wilfully interrupting with the lawful enjoyment of his ex-girlfriend’s cell phone. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. On May 7, 2026, a CPS officer located the man as a passenger in a motor vehicle after initiating a traffic stop. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
