CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old Long Sault man was arrested on Nov. 8, 2024, and charged with criminal harassment – repeatedly communicate as well as criminal harassment – beset and watch complainant. It is alleged from Nov. 1, 2024, to Nov. 6, 2024, the man sent repeated messages to his ex-girlfriend and attended her residence multiple times. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Nov. 8, 2024, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Nov. 26, 2024. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Nov. 8, 2024, and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged on Sept. 29, 2024, the man assaulted his girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Nov. 8, 2024, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim in the matter.

FAIL TO COMPLY, UTTERING THREATS

Cornwall, ON – Laura Buckley, 27, of Cornwall, was arrested on Nov. 9, 2024, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. It is alleged on Nov. 9, 2024, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, the woman threatened to kill an individual known to her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. She was released to appear in court on Dec. 12, 2024.

FAIL TO COMPLY, OBSTRUCT PEACE OFFICER

Cornwall, ON – Marc Racine, 49, of Brampton, ON, was arrested on Nov. 9, 2024, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with probation order and obstruct peace officer. It is alleged on Nov. 9, 2024, the man was bound by two separate probation orders with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. On Nov. 9, 2024, the man was located by police while they were dealing with a separate matter. An investigation ensued, at which point the man gave police a false name and date of birth. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Anthony Thomas, 34, of Cornwall, was arrested on Nov. 9, 2024, and charged with assault. It is alleged on July 25, 2024, the man assaulted an individual known to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Nov. 9, 2024, the man was located by police while they were dealing with a separate matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Dec. 12, 2024.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on Nov. 9, 2024, and charged with domestic assault and assault. It is alleged on Nov. 9, 2024, the woman assaulted her boyfriend and punched her boyfriend’s mother in the head. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Dec. 10, 2024. Her name was not released to protect the identity of the victims in the matter.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Nov. 9, 2024, and charged with 18 counts of fail to comply with probation order and six counts of fail to comply with release order. It is alleged from Oct. 7, 2024, to Oct. 21, 2024, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not communicate in any way with his ex-spouse. It is also alleged from Oct. 7, 2024, to Oct. 21, 2024, the man was bound by a second probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Furthermore, it is alleged from Oct. 7, 2024, to Oct. 21, 2024, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not communicate in any way with his ex-spouse. Finally, it is alleged, from Oct. 7, 2024, to Oct. 21, 2024, the man called his ex-spouse on six separate occasions. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Nov. 9, 2024, the man was located by police who were on general patrol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. The man’s name was not released to protect the identity of the victim in the matter.

MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on Nov. 10, 2024, and charged with mischief under $5,000. It is alleged on Oct. 31, 2024, the youth threw a rock toward a motor vehicle and damaged the car. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Nov. 10, 2024, the youth attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Emily Alguire, 26, of Long Sault, was arrested on Nov. 10, 2024, and charged with impaired operation and over 80. On Nov. 10, 2024, police responded to a motor vehicle collision in the area of Ninth Street East and Gloucester Street and an investigation ensued. The woman was located and the investigation revealed she was operating her motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Dec. 3, 2024.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 51-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Nov. 11, 2024, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with undertaking. On Nov. 11, 2024, police responded to a domestic bail violation and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not communicate with his wife. It is also alleged on this date, the man was in communication with his wife. He was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Dec. 10, 2024. The man’s name was not released to protect the identity of the victim in the matter.

BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Emerisse Edgley, 41, of Cornwall, was arrested on Nov. 11, 2024, and charged with breach of recognizance and theft under $5,000. It is alleged on Oct. 21, 2024, the woman was bound by a recognizance with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, the woman attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Nov. 11, 2024, the woman was located by police. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Dec. 17, 2024.

There were 202 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the last four days (8 a.m. Friday to 8 a.m. today). CPS reserves the right to not post all calls for service in order to protect the identity of the victims.
