MISCHIEF UNDER $5,000

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on Nov. 18, 2023, and charged with mischief under $5,000. It is alleged on Nov. 18, 2023, the woman attended her ex-boyfriend’s residence and caused damage to the property. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman later attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Dec. 12, 2023. The woman’s name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

ASSAULT, FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on Nov. 18, 2023, and charged with assault and four counts of fail to comply with probation order. It is alleged on Nov. 18, 2023, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, to not communicate with his ex-girlfriend and to not be within 100 meters of her. It is alleged on Nov. 13, 2023, the man was in contact with his ex-girlfriend and assaulted her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Nov. 18, 2023, the man was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – Gregory Rutley, 50, of Cornwall, was arrested on Nov. 19, 2023, and charged with assault with a weapon. It is alleged on Nov. 19, 2023, the man stabbed another individual with an object. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, ON – A 74-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on Nov. 19, 2023, and charged with seven counts of breach of probation. It is alleged on Nov. 19, 2023, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, to not contact her ex-boyfriend, and to not attend his address. It is alleged on Nov. 19, 2023, the woman was in contact and attended the residence of her ex-boyfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Dec. 28, 2023.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 59-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on Nov. 20, 2023, and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged on Nov. 20, 2023, the woman assaulted her common-law partner. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Dec. 12, 2023. Her name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.
