FAIL TO COMPLY, RESIST PEACE OFFICER, ASSAULT PEACE OFFICER

Cornwall, ON – Padocia Cornelius, 38, of Cornwall, was arrested on Nov. 26, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Five counts of fail to comply with release order
  • Resist peace officer
  • Assault peace officer

It is alleged on Nov. 8, 2024, and Nov. 15, 2024, the woman was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to report to the CPS. It is also alleged on these dates, the woman failed to sign in as required. An investigation ensued.

Furthermore, it is alleged, on Nov. 26, 2024, the woman was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to reside at a specific address in the City of Cornwall, to notify the CPS of any change of address and to remain in her residence at all times under house arrest. On this date, the woman was located by police, who were dealing with a separate matter. It is alleged she failed to reside at the specific residence she was supposed to live at, failed to notify the CPS of a change of address and failed to remain in her residence. While being taken into custody, it is also alleged the woman resisted arrest and spat at a member of the CPS. The woman was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – Rashad Massiah, 23, of Cornwall, was arrested on Nov. 26, 2024, and charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose. On Nov. 26, 2024, police responded to a disturbance call and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man pointed a BB gun at an individual known to him. He was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The man was released to appear in court on Dec. 31, 2024.

There were 47 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the last 24 hours (8 a.m. yesterday to 8 a.m. today). CPS reserves the right to not post all calls for service in order to protect the identity of the victims.
