FAIL TO COMPLY, THEFT UNDER $5,000

Cornwall, ON – James MacFarlane, 39, of Cornwall, was arrested on Nov. 29, 2023, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and theft under $5,000. It is alleged on April 24, 2023, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on Nov. 14, 2023, the man attended a Second Street business, selected merchandise and left without attempting to pay for it. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Nov. 29, 2023, the man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was released to appear in court on Dec. 28, 2023.  

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – Jacques Roy, 63, of Cornwall, was arrested on Nov. 29, 2023, and charged with two counts of criminal harassment. It is alleged on Nov. 29, 2023, the man engaged in conduct causing another individual known to him to fear for their safety. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was released to appear in court on Jan. 2, 2024.
