FAIL TO COMPLY, UTTERING THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 30, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. On Sept. 29, 2026, a Cornwall Police Service officer was dispatched to investigate a threats complaint. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged he threatened to stab an individual at a local bank. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. On Sept. 30, 2026, the man was located by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol in the City of Cornwall. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Nov. 3, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY, FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old man from Ottawa was arrested on Sept. 30, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Aug. 14, 2026, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged he was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charges of fail to comply with probation order and fail to attend for fingerprints as per undertaking. On Sept. 30, 2026, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed and he was released to appear in court on Nov. 5, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY, USE OF FIREARM WHILE COMMITTING OFFENCE, UTTERING THREATS, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old man from Oshawa was arrested on Sept. 30, 2026, and charged with the following:

  • Four counts of fail to comply with probation order
  • Two counts of firearm – use while committing offence
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm – domestic
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property

On Sept. 30, a CPS officer was dispatched to a person welfare check, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, to not contact or communicate in any way with his ex-spouse, to not be within 100 metres of any place he knows her to live, work or frequent and to not possess any weapons as defined by the Criminal Code. It is also alleged he was in possession of a firearm while threatening to kill his ex-spouse and her sister. It is further alleged the man damaged his ex-spouse’s cell phone. As a result of the investigation, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. The man was subsequently located and taken into police custody. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 52-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 30, 2026, and charged with the following:

  • Five counts of fail to comply with probation order
  • Fail to comply with undertaking
  • Theft under $5,000 – shoplifting

It is alleged on Sept. 30, 2026, the man was bound by two separate probation orders, each with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Second Street East business, as well as a third probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He was also bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not attend a specific Second Street East business. It is alleged on Sept. 30, 2026, the man attended the Second Street East business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was taken into custody by the Loss Prevention Officer at the business and subsequently turned over to the CPS. He was charged accordingly and held in police custody for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 50-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 30, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and mischief under $5,000. It is alleged on Sept. 30, 2026, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged he smashed the window of a Montreal Road business. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was subsequently located and taken into police custody. He was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Nov. 5, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY, BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old woman from St. Andrews West was arrested on Sept. 30, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with release order and breach of recognizance. On Sept. 30, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to a person welfare check, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not have alcohol in or on her person while outsider her residence, as well as a recognizance with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. The woman was located by police and it is further alleged she was under the influence of alcohol outside her residence. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
