WEAPONS, RESIST ARREST, POSSESSION OF A SCHEDULED SUBSTANCE
Cornwall, ON – Kian Legault, 22, of Cornwall, was arrested on Oct. 09, 2024, and charged with;
· Carrying a concealed weapon
· Possession of a weapon
· Resist arrest
. Possession of a scheduled substance
On Oct. 09, 2024, police responded to the area of Marlborough Street in regards to a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was located and stopped by a member of CPS. Once stopped, the man fled on foot. It is alleged that after the man was apprehended, he resisted arrest and while being taken into custody, police located a quantity of drugs and a concealed weapon. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Nov. 14, 2024.
ASSAULT, MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old woman of Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 09, 2024, and charged with assault and mischief under $5,000. It is alleged on Oct. 06, 2024, the woman assaulted her sister, causing damage to her glasses. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Oct. 09, 2024, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on Nov. 14, 2024. Her name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.
SHOPLIFTING, FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – Dayton Sheney, 24, of Cornwall, was arrested on Oct. 09, 2024, and charged with theft under $5,000 and failing to comply with a probation order. It is alleged on Aug. 31, 2024, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. On this date, it is also alleged the man attended a Ninth Street business, selected merchandise and left the store without attempting to pay for it. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Oct. 09, 2024, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on Nov. 14, 2024.
