FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING, FAIL TO ATTEND
Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 1, 2026, on the strength of several outstanding warrants and additionally charged with nine counts of fail to comply with undertaking and three counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.
It is alleged on May 21, 2026, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not attend a specific Ninth Street West business. It is further alleged he attended the Ninth Street West business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Patrol Support Unit officer. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest on the charges of fail to comply with undertaking and theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.
It is alleged on July 8, 2026, the man was bound by two separate undertakings, each with the relevant condition to not attend a specific Ninth Street West business. It is further alleged he attended the Ninth Street West business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest on the charges of two counts of fail to comply with undertaking and one count of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.
It is alleged on July 23, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to comply with appearance notice – fingerprinting.
It is alleged on July 26, 2026, and again on July 29, 2026, the man was bound by two separate undertakings, each with the relevant conditions to not attend a specific Ninth Street West business and to not enter the areas of the business within 50 metres. It is further alleged the man attended the business he was prohibited from visiting on these dates, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and investigations ensued – led by a Community Patrol Support Unit officer. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest.
It is alleged on Aug. 18, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to attend for court as per undertaking.

It is alleged on Sept. 9, 2026, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not attend a specific Second Street East business. It is further alleged he attended the specific Second Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest.
It is alleged on Sept. 14, 2026, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to remain in his residence between specific hours. It is further alleged he breached the conditions of his curfew and broke into a residence with the intent to commit an indictable offence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest on the charges of fail to comply with undertaking and break and enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence.
On Oct. 1, 2026, a Cornwall Police Service officer was dispatched to a suspicious person complaint at a Sydney Street business, and an investigation ensued. The man was located and subsequently taken into police custody. The warrants were executed, he was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
ASSAULT WITH WEAPON
Cornwall, ON – A 13-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 1, 2026, and charged with assault with a weapon. On Oct. 1, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to a weapons complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the youth brandished an edged weapon and waved it at an individual known to him. The youth was subsequently located and taken into police custody. He was charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, and held in custody for a bail hearing.

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 2, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on July 20, 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged she attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Patrol Support Unit officer. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest. On Oct. 2, 2026, the woman was located by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol in the City of Cornwall. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Nov. 5, 2026.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 2, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on Sept. 17, 2026, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On Oct. 2, 2026, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Nov. 3, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING, DISGUISE WITH INTENT
Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 2, 2026, and charged with the following:
- 12 counts of fail to comply with probation order
- Four counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting
- Three counts of disguise with intent
It is alleged on Sept. 25, 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Marlborough Street convenience store, as well as a second probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged that on four separate occasions in the early morning hours of Sept. 25, 2026, the woman attended the Marlborough Street convenience store she was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store on each occasion without making any attempt to pay for the items. Finally, it is alleged the woman disguised herself with various face coverings while committing the thefts. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest. On Oct. 2, 2026, the woman was located by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
DISTRIBUTE INTIMATE IMAGE WITHOUT CONSENT
Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 2, 2026, and charged with distribute intimate image without consent. It is alleged on Sept. 29, 2026, the man distributed an intimate image of his ex-girlfriend without her consent. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On Oct. 2, 2026, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Oct. 27, 2026.
IMPAIRED BY DRUG
Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old woman from Highgate Center, VT, was arrested on Oct. 2, 2026, and charged with operation while impaired – drugs. On Oct. 2, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to the Port of Entry in regard to an impaired driver complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman was operating her motor vehicle under the influence of drugs. She was taken into custody by a Canada Border Services Agency officer and subsequently turned over to the CPS. She was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Nov. 10, 2026.
IMPAIRED OPERATION, OVER 80
Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 3, 2026, and charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). On the morning of Oct. 3, 2026, a CPS officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Second Street East, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Oct. 20, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE
Cornwall, ON – A 47-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 3, 2026, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with probation order and one count of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose. It is alleged on Oct. 3, 2026, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not possess anything designed to be used or intended for use to cause death or injury or to threaten or intimidate any person. It is further alleged the man was observed by a CPS officer walking on McConnell Avenue while carrying an axe. He was subsequently taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
FAIL TO ATTEND
Cornwall, ON – A 52-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 3, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with appearance notice – fingerprinting. It is alleged on Sept. 22, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On Oct. 3, 2026, the man was located by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Nov. 5, 2026.
ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 4, 2026, and charged with assault. It is alleged on Oct. 2, 2026, the youth assaulted an individual, repeatedly striking them in the head. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On Oct. 4, 2026, the youth attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was released to appear in court at a later date.
