BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE, ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 5, 2026, and charged with the following:
- Breach of recognizance
- Assault
- Two counts of make sexually explicit material available to a person under 16 years of age
- Two counts of imports, distributes or possesses for the purpose of distribution of child sexual abuse and exploitation material
It is alleged on July 24, 2026, the youth was bound by a recognizance with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged he assaulted an individual known to him at a park in the City of Cornwall. A Cornwall Police Service officer who was on foot patrol in the area was contacted, and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest.
In August 2026, a detective in the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit initiated an investigation into child sexual abuse and exploitation material. It is alleged on April 6, 2026, and Aug. 6, 2026, the youth made available child sexual abuse and exploitation material by electronically sending a photo of his genital organ to a person under the age of 16. As a result of the investigation, the detective developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest.
On Oct. 5, 2026, the youth attended police headquarters to address the assault matter. He was taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The youth was held in custody for a bail hearing.
BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE, FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 5, 2026, and charged with breach of recognizance and fail to comply with undertaking. It is alleged on Sept. 30, 2026, the youth was bound by a recognizance with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, as well as an undertaking with the relevant condition to not go to her mother’s place of residence or employment. It is further alleged on this date, the youth attended her mother’s residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest. On Oct. 5, 2026, the youth attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was held in custody for a bail hearing.
FAIL TO COMPLY, BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE
Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 5, 2026, and charged with three counts of fail to comply with probation order and seven counts of breach of recognizance.
On July 17, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on June 26, 2026, and July 17, 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, as well as a recognizance with the relevant conditions to not contact or communicate in any way either directly or indirectly, by any physical, electronic or other means with her boyfriend and to not be within 25 metres of him. It is further alleged the woman was in contact with her boyfriend on these dates. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for her arrest.
On Sept. 12, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman was once again bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, as well as a recognizance with the relevant conditions to not contact or communicate in any way either directly or indirectly, by any physical, electronic or other means with her boyfriend, to not be within 25 metres of him and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged the woman was in contact with her boyfriend. As a result of the investigation, police once again developed reasonable and probable grounds for her arrest.
On Oct. 5, 2026, a CPS officer conducted a traffic stop, and an investigation ensued. The woman was located in the motor vehicle. She was taken into police custody and charged accordingly. The woman was held for a bail hearing.
ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON
Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 5, 2026, and charged with assault with a weapon. On Oct. 3, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to investigate an assault complaint. It is alleged on Oct. 2, 2026, the youth assaulted an individual known to her with a metal water bottle. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for her arrest. On Oct. 5, 2026, the youth attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was released to appear in court at a later date.
FAIL TO ATTEND
Cornwall, ON – A 60-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 5, 2026, and charged with fail to attend for fingerprints as per undertaking. It is alleged on Sept. 14, 2026, the woman was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest. On Oct. 5, 2026, the woman was located by a CPS officer. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Nov. 5, 2026.
THEFT
Cornwall, ON – A 42-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 5, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged on Sept. 13, 2026, the man stole an individual’s e-bike. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrested. On Oct. 5, 2026, the man was located by a CPS officer who was on general patrol. After a brief foot pursuit, he was taken into police custody. The man was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Nov. 17, 2026.
MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON – A 60-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 6, 2026, and charged with mischief under $5,000. It is alleged in the early morning hours of Oct. 6, 2026, the woman broke a window at the train station. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. She was subsequently located and taken into police custody. The woman was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Nov. 17, 2026.
