DANGEROUS OPERATION CAUSING BODILY HARM, FAIL TO STOP AT ACCIDENT RESULTING IN BODILY HARM, POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, POSSESSION OF COUNTERFEIT MONEY
Cornwall, ON – Stephanie Lavigne, 39, of Dorval, QC, was arrested on Sept. 13, 2024, and charged with the following:
- Dangerous operation causing bodily harm
- Fail to stop at accident resulting in bodily harm
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Possession of counterfeit money
On Sept. 13, 2024, police responded to a motor vehicle collision in the Amelia Street area and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman drove a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner and struck an individual known to her with the box truck she was driving. It is also alleged the woman fled from the scene of the accident. The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Later on Sept. 13, 2024, the woman was located by police at the courthouse. She was taken into custody and further investigation revealed she was in possession of a Schedule I substance, drug paraphernalia and counterfeit cash.
The woman was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – Nathan Glover, 21, of Cornwall, was arrested on Sept. 13, 2024, and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged on Sept. 13, 2024, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was released to appear in court on Oct. 22, 2024.
IMPAIRED, OVER 80
Cornwall, ON – Zachary Menard, 20, of Cornwall, was arrested on Sept. 14, 2024, and charged with impaired operation and over 80. On Sept. 14, 2024, police responded to a motor vehicle collision in the area of Cornwall Centre Road and an investigation ensued. The man was located and the investigation revealed he was operating his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Oct. 8, 2024.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Justin Pawis-Lepage, 32, of Cornwall, was arrested on Sept. 14, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on June 10, 2024, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprints and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Sept. 14, 2024, the man was located by police who were on general patrol. The warrant was executed and he was released to appear in court on Oct. 17, 2024.
ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – Morris Whitford, 80, of Cornwall, was arrested on Sept. 15, 2024, and charged with assault. It is alleged on Sept. 15, 2024, the man punched an individual several times. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was released to appear in court on Oct. 22, 2024.
ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on Sept. 15, 2024, and charged with assault. It is alleged on Sept. 13, 2024, the youth assaulted a student at school. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Sept. 15, 2024, the youth attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. Her name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – Kristal Baldwin, 41, of Cornwall, was arrested on Sept. 15, 2024, and charged with assault. It is alleged on Sept. 15, 2024, the woman assaulted an individual known to her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. She was released to appear in court on Oct. 22, 2024.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – John Shibu, 44, of Cornwall, was arrested on Sept. 15, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Sept. 6, 2024, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprints and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Sept. 15, 2024, the man was located by police. The warrant was executed and he was released to appear in court on Oct. 31, 2024.
